Does anyone "really" think this guy can win at Tennessee?

We gave Martin 2 seasons,I gave him 2 last year was his chance and he blew it

Sweet 16 is blowing it? And obviously you weren't around in Martin's first year because there were plenty of people that were very vocal about firing him around this time in his first season.

He blew it by starting out like he did every year slow,if he had started like we finished we could've been a 4 seed and maybe got into a easy bracket and made it 2 the elite 8 at least

Over exaggerate much....there were people that had doubts about whether Zo could get it done but there was only one calling for his head and that poster was ridiculed daily for a yr and half bc of it....I am definitely not confident that we hired the right guy and it's his job to prove us wrong.

This guy has it much harder than Zo did too....not only is good portion still want la Bruce back....a smaller very vocal part of the fan base is all about some Zo and judging by attendance the other night he may not have much support starting out..

He was one of my favorite players at Purdue, and I like his coaching style.

Martin and Tyndall have nothing to do with one another. Tyndall should be given at least 4 years to mold UT basketball to his vision. No use second guessing what happened in the past. Whining about how Martin was treated isn't going to change the fact that Tyndall is the coach right now. If he can get out of this NCAA thing without a huge amount of damage, I think he can win and win big at UT. He's changing the entire style of play at UT (similar to what Martin had to do) and he has some miss matched parts and had to do some emergency recruiting. What you're seeing on the court right now is not the product Tyndall is capable of putting on the court.

The point of college basketball is to play well in the tournament. When UCONN won the entire thing as an 8 seed do you think the fans cared that they under achieved? UT was one play away from the elite 8. UT's best player had the ball in his hands with a chance to win the game. That's all you can ask for in the tournament.

That's very true.....anyone that discounts Zo's run last yr is being as petty as BTO is right now....I think Zo can coach with the chance to improve. I'm not a big fan of the Purdue system but if it wins big so be it. I was really concerned about Zo's lackluster recruiting and the lower rated guys he got didn't seem to match his style at all.

You're missing the point if the team hadnt turned up like they did there is no tournament, and I really don think he had anything to do with it,but anyway here I am bringing him up...damn it !

Most of the so called fans in the basketball forum have no idea how college basketball works and can't grasp this concept.

CCM had to replace a terminated icon that was loved by majority of the fan base while the same majority wanted CCM fired, yet you feel CDT has it harder than Zo?

Not to mention CDT inherits a player better than any Zo inherited and a 5 star recruit. CDT actually also returned more production than Zo did.

And of course you wouldn't. Just saying, you're 10x worse than I was with Zo, I at least would criticize on occasion, you're appalled at such a thought, Tyndall is like a mixture of Fergie and Jesus in your mind.

I criticize Tyndall a lot just not on here, some people don't wanna read that sh!t every time something bad or negative hapoens

He wins some. Probably on par with CCM after 3 years.

I seriously doubt Tyndall has 63 wins and a Sweet 16 by year 3, but that would be a nice surprise. The Sweet 16 is more possible than the 63 wins imo, most think 15-16 wins this season, that means he would have to averaged 24 wins a year the following 2 seasons to reach that mark and I see that as very doubtful.

Sorry, no, Tyndall does'nt get 4 years. Sounds like you're saying Zo was dysfunctional yet he hit the S16 in year 3 and was run out on a rail. So, if DT represents great change,I'm thinking a NC by year 3 might be in order.
