I honestly think so right now. Let's assume the SEC gets 6 teams in. According to many experts the SEC and ACC are the best conferences right now.
Right now Florida and Kentucky are locks for the tourney. Vandy looks to be in as does Bama if they avoid a total meltdown.
So that leaves Tenn, UGA and basically Arkansas or maybe Miss. competing for the last two spots. Our RPI and big OOC wins are better than all of these teams. Plus, I think the committee will take into account the loss of Lofton for four games in the middle of conf. play. Especially if we play well down the stretch with him back.
So even if a couple of these teams go 8-8 in conf. play I think we can trump them even with a 7-9 conf. record and at least a 1-1 showing in the tourney making our overall record 20-14.
I think one of our biggest games is at UGA b/c this is the game that will either put us at 7 wins or hopefully 8 wins in conf. play. Plus, I think they are our biggest challenge for possibly the final SEC spot and beating them twice would look good in the committee's eyes.
