If Dormady had played some downs with the first team rather than in just wholesale substitution during garbage time, we might actually know something about his ability. Seems to be poor coaching having to find out what your backup QB can do on 3rd and long at the wrong end of the field against AL. Maybe that's why Peterman was the backup until he showed what he could do at game time - that Bambi in the headlights look was not pleasant to see.

Dobbs was thrown in the fire against Bama in his first game. The kid has been learning on the fly the entire time and in the SEC to beat all.
Every rep we could give him has been invaluable. It would have been different if Dobbs had the benefit of an equally talented QB in front of him so he could ease into the role
So, the fact that the backup qb has played, AT ALL, is a testament to how complete the offensive coaching staff is.
