Dobbs vs Butch

No. No coach in the SEC is going to put in an 18-yr old true freshman QB when he has another viable option. Guarantano is very likely our future QB, but he won't be in 2016 unless JD and QD are both down.

If Dobbs were to go down? Everything is open.

Only if Dormady shows he can't handle the job, IMO. I realize Guarantano is talented, and by all indications very mature for an 18-yrd old, but I don't believe Butch will want to throw JG to the wolves (i.e, SEC defenses) unless Dormady proves to be ineffective.

Not a matter of starting. Dormady would get first shot, no doubt. If Guarantano out practices Sheriron? He'd be next. We're screwed if this hypothetical becomes reality, anyway.

1.5 years of learning the playbook is worth about a million. Add that to how good Dormady is on talent alone, and you have a million and a lot.

Guarantano's talent may be more of "a lot" than Dormady's; it may not. We'll only know when they're competing for the job next year. But it's definitely not equal to a million and a lot.

Dormady's time on the team is gold. He'd be our starter if Josh were to get injured. And would stay our starter, barring failure on the field.

Yes, I also believe JG will probably end up 3rd on the depth chart, but the post I responded to stated that if Dobbs goes down the job will be Guarantano's. Dormady will be first option, and deservedly so.

Relax. You always have the "Bristol behind schedule
because the grass can't grow up in 3 weeks" thread to keep anything else out of the worst spot.

I vote for this :lolabove: Is it too early to campaign Dobbs for Heisman??

Every year we get to the start of fall practice and breathe a sigh of relief because "silly thread" season is finally behind us.

And every year we are wrong.

Dormandy will be pushing Dobbs as the starter for App St. Would not be surprised if we went to a two qb system for the first few games. With how well Guarantanamo has come along, there may even be a rotating three man system, much like the receivers you want to always have a qb with fresh legs

If only you'd been able to work Seveniron Jones into the mix. :eek:hmy:

And just when we thought it couldn't possibly get any sillier.

Please Dear Lord, give me the strength to endure another 9 days of nonsensical, irritating and hypothetical BS threads.

I asked a ? And a good one, dobbs gets a loaded box bc no one fears his arm and if he can't back off defenses then do you think Butch makes a switch

Yes, you asked a question. How good it was is subject to debate... in Mad magazine.

However, if Dobbs loses his mind out there and does really stupid stuff, of course we will see Dormady, or Jones, or Guarantano.

However, I have faith that Dobbs will be improved this year, just as he was last year. The odds of him losing his starting spot is almost as low as chances you will ask an intelligent question.

If Dobbs can't pass, Dormandy can't run, and Sherizon can't do poise, and Guantanamo has no pocket presents, then will Jones bring in Jancek or not?

I think the first part of your post is most telling. This offence is based on a qp who can run. Dobbs can throw fairly well. Do not see the ability to run at all by Dormandy. Would hate to think what might happen if we needed to change the off. to a more pro set.
