Dobbs released by Jaguars

The Jags have struggled of late with personnel decisions (yes I know this is an understatement).

This is another bad decision.

Dumb asses running the organization, sadly for us Jags fans.

He should use that degree and forget the NFL

Nah; if I were him I'd try to play as a backup for as long as possible. He'll still make more money than any of us probably will ever see and he'll still be young enough to still do the other things he wants when he's done; and bonus without playing that much he'll probably not have any memory/brain issues.

Where it becomes a decision for him is if he can't find another landing spot but say the XFL or CFL comes calling. He'd probably get to start in those leagues but he also can probably make more in the field he wants to go into.

The other side of the equation is the Jags have the worst QB room in the league and Dobbs couldn't even crack the roster of a team openly trying to tank...

Since they are openly trying to tank, letting Dobbs go make the most sense, since he would wreck those plans.

Dobbs’ X factor is his ability to run. When a typical NFL play goes as planned the QB being able to run is a non factor.

I think Dobbs being let go had more with him not being an impactful NFL quarterback rather than having him play and leading the Jags to respectability....

I know you and @Dobbs 4 Heisman may disagree but if you can't make it in Jacksonville with the tomato cans they are playing at QB, I'm not sure you will make it anywhere...

I think Dobbs getting cut in Jax is just Jax making roster room and keeping who they think fits the system for next season. Could be they are thinking they don't need all these young QBs in the room when Lawrence shows up in the spring.

They are tankin for Trevor, dude. They have unloaded all of their talent to get ready. It’s true

My point was that if they want to tank keeping Dobbs would be a bad idea. He can improvise with his feet to extend plays and excite a fan base. Maybe even win a few games costing them the 1st overall pick.

Hitting players in stride was the area he needed to improve the most at UT. That may or may not still be true. That is more important to me than a QB that can run.

If they thought he had potential you at the very least keep him on the back burner, tank with Minshew and Luton and if they land Lawrence they have him and Dobbs.

Jacksonville just had 16 rookies make their 53 man roster in a year with zero preseason games. If that doesn't tell you they are tanking I don't know what will.

FTR this is the same roster Leonard Fournette couldn't crack if we're gonna take what they are doing seriously.

Which was a big deal in college; in the NFL when the defensive players are as fast as he is, not so much. Dobbs is basically Mahomes or Lamar Jackson without the throwing ability, which means....he's not much special for the NFL game.
