Dobbs released by Jaguars

Jacksonville just had 16 rookies make their 53 man roster in a year with zero preseason games. If that doesn't tell you they are tanking I don't know what will.

FTR this is the same roster Leonard Fournette couldn't crack if we're gonna take what they are doing seriously.

They may be tanking, but getting rid of Dobbs isn't much of an indicator.

Which was a big deal in college; in the NFL when the defensive players are as fast as he is, not so much. Dobbs is basically Mahomes or Lamar Jackson without the throwing ability, which means....he's not much special for the NFL game.

Yeah, Dobbs has never had NFL-level passing ability. The chance of him ever being more than a third-string pseudo-wildcat QB in the league were always slim.

They are tankin for Trevor, dude. They have unloaded all of their talent to get ready. It’s true

Wait, why would they tank for Trevor if they have such a great QB on their roster as Dobbs?

Look I know we're biased here and everyone wants Dobbs to be great in the NFL, but this reasoning makes no sense at all. That's not how the NFL works, if Dobbs had any value that would have at least traded him. You know why they didn't? Because they wouldn't get anything for him.

The same reason they cut Fournette loose, couldn't get anything for him in a trade.

Love Josh Dobbs. Sorry he's not going to be in Jax any longer. But, I don't watch the NFL anyways and won't as long as they "take a knee," against the flag and our country!

It might be time for Raytheon to go ahead and draft Dobbs.
Nah, not yet. He's made 2.2 mil over 3 years to not play. He also just qualified for the 3 year pension whixh us around 20k per year. Not sure when the next major bump in the pension is, maybe year 5 but I'm sure he has a plan and he's smart enough to be investing that cash wisely.

He should use that degree and forget the NFL

I agree unless the NFL keeps paying him a couple or so mil to just stand around and watch. Who knows he may hang around and become a coach. With his smarts, being a coach and continuing to make mils in the game he loves ant too bad.

Josh has made 2 million and is fully invested in the NFL pension without getting his brain bashed in the league. That's success in my book..now go build me a rocket to Mars young man

Since they are openly trying to tank, letting Dobbs go make the most sense, since he would wreck those plans.

Dobbs’ X factor is his ability to run. When a typical NFL play goes as planned the QB being able to run is a non factor.
Exactly, if I'm coach and a game is slipping away, you put Dobbs in for a series and shake up the defense. Lamar Jackson has lit up defenses by running.

Running QBs are injury prone. One clean hit and it could be applesauce for the QB. It’s a brutal game. They should ban all blind side hits.
