Did you not watch the last game?
Dobbs threw a beautiful 40 yard bomb to Malone that went 67 yards for a TD. Very similar to the shot plays Buechele threw last night.
Watching other offenses that have creative play calling makes me a little jealous. Nd doesn't have the talent we have but they always have a unique and creative gameplan. And a coach that is the polar opposite of Butch. Kelly is a riverboat gambler. Crazy Butch learned from him. What did he learn? He's nothing like Kelly
I don't understand his reluctance to play freshman. If they give you the best opportunity to win, them play them. Didn't stop Saban from putting one in, and USC had no answer for him !It's a good thing he didn't come to TN bc according to Butch young players aren't capable of learning his complex offensive system and therefore should sit. Evidently we r the only school in nation that feels that way. Btw the center is a freshman also.
The pass was great. Some just don't want to give Dobbs credit. They would rather bash a great play and our qb than admit he made a good downfield throw and they were wrong.
There are 4 quarters in the game so why not throw deep 4 times in the game?
In the first drive Dobbs threw to Malone high. I don't think I saw a WR get hit in stride to make a catch and run. The TD throw to Malone was open the whole game to any number of WR, yet there was no attempt to throw to them. The middle of the field was open the whole game, yet the TE was only hit a few times. A WR slant would have been good too. I think that they should have used the short to middle passes (TE seam routes) on first down to open up the run and get Dobbs in rhythm. It would have worked better than trying to run every single first down play. The only time that they pretty much didn't run on first down was the TD bomb to Malone and the first down throw to Wolfe in OT. To take the next level and go to the SEC Championship game, Dobbs needs to get better at hitting his WR consistently in the numbers when they are open and in stride so they can put the D under pressure.
You tell me which is the better throw:

No comparison in my opinion[/QUOTE
Not even close. That Texas QB pass was right on the mark.
Our wrs were blowing past app state all night
We will not make it to the next level of achievement with a scrambling QB who also cannot make smart down field throws. We will obviously be one dimensional and no defense will respect us, just like Appy St didnt.
