Dobbs looking good.

If you look what’s going on in the trades,
Denver might be in talks.
They have 2 5th rounders. They have the Vikings 5th rounder by giving up a QB.
So giving up a 5th and getting Dobbs and 6/7 would be ideal. Dobbs is a better candidate than Kelly and Paxton.
The other team who has 2 5th rounders is the Detroit Lions.
They have 3 QBs with both of their backups as toss ups. Add Dobbs to the mix and it can really get interesting .
Denver is the team I want him to go to simply because they are one of the few teams in the NFL that I like

As I recall Dobbs had a great game in beating the same panthers in the 4th preseason game last year also. Great for a rookie that is. Still, point to one game that Rudolph has met expectations yet. It's all opinion however, nothing else and mine is Dobbs is the 2nd best QB on the steelers team right now. I hope they do put him on waivers for his own good. GO RAVENS!!!!!!

Um last night. And statisically he did better than Dobbs in the first preseason game.

Did you not understand the point? You're praising Dobbs but crapping on Randolph, yet he did pretty much as well as Dobbs did last night against the same level of competition.

It's actually slightly below average for a veteran backup. I'd rather have Jones than Matt Shaub, Chase Daniel, or Drew Stanton, and all of those guys are making more in 2018.

If they had their minds made up to keep Jones during the offseason, and were all that concerned with keeping Dobbs, they wouldn't have drafted Rudolph.

I had heard in early January, when the campus workouts were held, that Pitts was interested in Mason; however; teams are famous for sending out false messages, so they don't show their hand before the draft. I dismissed the supposed interest in Mason as a smoke screen.

I think, AT TIMES, players or coaches say things that are not TRUE because it is the politically correct thing to say. I don't see people who act professionally having a habit of throwing people under the bus.
For instance, in 2010, when Saban was asked about Dooley being Tennessee's coach, he said good things about him. If he said the truth, it would have sounded like this "Derek Dooley was a failure as a position coach for me at LSU. I had to micromanage him at everything that he did and he joked too much and the players didn't respect him because he was seldom serious. I think his growth as a head coach in the NCAA is limited and he should be coaching at a mid-level school, such as Akron, La. Tech, Tennessee State or Alabama State. he will be a failure at Tennessee."

So can the "Dobbs isn't an NFL qb" idiots finally shut up? He may never be a franchise qb but he is definitely an NFL qb.

I agree with you but he might end up being a franchise q.b. Stranger things have happened.
Remember when Tommy Maddox was out of football completely and selling insurance and a couple of years later, he played for Pittsburgh and made the Pro Bowl??????
Ya never know.....
If I had said that Maddox will be a starter and make it to the Pro Bowl in 2000, you would have laughed but in 2003 he did it....

He did very well in the XFL which is what got his foot back in the door in the NFL.

As far as I am concerned, he can go anywhere EXCEPT Cleveland, which is Q.B. purgatory. His career will rot away up there..............

I have always said Tyrod Taylor was a good comparison. I think he can be a solid starter who takes care of the ball and won't lose you the game. He may never be more than a backup but he is for sure a NFL qb.

A quality back up can earn millions and also earn a retirement. As a quality back up, the right situation can end up being great. Remember Matt Cassell? Brady's back up, then off to make millions at K.C., Titans, etc.etc.

Dobbs reminds me of a healthier Bridgewater. Except Bridgewater has been more accurate in college and earlier but nonetheless, Josh can be a serviceable QB. Possibly a starter. The best thing for his career is sitting these 1-3 years before taking the reigns.

I was hoping that Dobbs would have passed Landry Jones on the roster. Then cut/trade Jones who has a higher salary than Dobbs
However Dobbs did not pass Jones, so the Steelers will likely keep Ben, Jones & Rudolph and cut Dobbs
Hope he does not end up in purgatory on Cleveland

I don’t think it’s an issue of Dobbs passing Jones but an issue of Pitt being a super bowl caliber team and if BR goes down for a few games, they gotta have a guy who they know can beat a few teams so they can at least get to playoffs. They don’t know what JD can do yet in reg season, which is completely diff than preseason.
