I think their draft has been overrated (I don't really like the Peppers and Kizer picks), but this is ridiculous. Taking Dobbs 134 picks earlier than the rest of the league valued him wasn't going to make them any better.
You can make a decent argument that they should have held off on a QB until later (I read a good quote this weekend that likened their Kizer pick to a second guessing of their moneyball strategy in lieu of taking a QB with a 2nd/3rd round grade just because he was there and it was expected) or taken a different QB at that spot even.
The fact of the matter is the browns are a lot more than a QB away from having a good team. And there weren't any can't miss guys to pick #1 at QB this year. It's very telling that the top two guys taken this season are projected to sit behind a veteran for at least a season, if not longer.
Fact of the matter is the browns could have somehow lucked out and gotten the 6-7 of the 10 best players in this draft and they'd still probably middle of the pack at best in 2017. And they've got 5 picks in the first 2 rounds to work with next year. If there is a QB they fall in love with for the 2018 draft, they should have a pretty good chance of snagging him.
One QB on the field is more of a football team then 52 players with no QB. I've been in this hamster wheel called Browns football for 29 years.
... and if you didn't think the was a number ine overall you trade the frigging pick. Which I would have been fine with but ESPN has this fanbase convinced Garrett is the savior arisen. There would have been pitchforks in the streets.
