LG I posed this question to a gator friend of mine. Yes I have friends who are gators. (Bless their hearts) and ask would he be pulling for Tennessee or Penn St. He said he would never pool for the Vols. I said I understand that and we are still friends. So that being said, there is good news and bad news about the OS vs. Fla.

The Good news is one of them will lose.
The bad is one will win, so all I can say is
GO BUCKEYES.

Hate is a word that I was raised to never use. I intensely dislike a few teams, but any SEC team does not fit the ilk. My grandfather taught me to root for every team that you will, or have played. If they win, that makes it look all the better. I intensely dislike Texas. I can stand, and root for all of our SEC brethren.

see I can't see how they're our brothers!! We go to war with them every saturday and beat the crap out of eachother and whatnot! Our brothers are the guys wearing the same uniforms playing next to you.

I view the SEC as a bit like a family. I can pick on, or be picked on by my older or younger sibling, cousin, aunt, uncle.....whatever. Regardless, they are family. Heaven forbid any outsiders try and intrude upon this family. We are part of the SEC, and should stand proud against all others. I am a Vol fan till death, but will stand for the rest of the SEC. Especially over a bunch of whiny little 11 folks. If you chose to support the ones up there, I respect that, and have no qualms. Just do not judge my allegiance.:eek:k:

It will all but kill me, but I will be rooting for the Gators, Bammers, and all other SEC schools. Hell, I want an SEC sweep, it obviously makes the conference look better, and in turn makes us look better when we play those teams. But even posting this puts a bad taste in my mouth, I don't know how I'm gonna be able to watch some of these games...

I don't judge anyone's alliance to the conference over OOC teams, however, I think it will hurt UT in the recruiting wars over the next few years if UF wins the BCSCG. I know that UF is always going to have a lot of in-state kids to chose from. However, with The U and Fl.St. both being down, the gators could be looking at a 2008 recruiting class to rival Texas' 2007 class if you add in the hype/prestige of a ntnl. c-ship. On the other hand, UT rarely gets more than 1-2 guys per year from Big10 country. IMO it hurts the Vols alot more if UF wins this game.

as we get closer to the game....i find myself getting farther and farther away from the notion of pulling for "SEC ties" over all else. I just don't think i can stomach Florida holding two major national titles at the same time. especially when one of them is held by urban meyer.

i started out when it was announced to stay along party lines.......i don't think i can do it...

Go Bucks............ugh. can they both lose though? i mean really?

To me it makes sense to pull for Fla. Becuase we will be the frist team next year to beat the reigning National Champs

Personally, I think that the whole "my conference is better than yours" debate is useless. They're going to be what they're going to be. An SEC team winning the NC is going to have little to no influence on what people think anyway. However, Florida winning a NC will have an impact on their recruiting (not to mention we'll have to hear about it forever and ever. So having said that, Go Buckeyes..

yeah personally I hope Florida gets trounced by 20+ points and all the UT fans around here are hoping the same thing.
