Do you get....

I agree In fact I agree with with your whole stance on Dookey. The man is not the answer here, and I hope he is gone sooner rather than later. The KY game was all I needed to see. Dude just cannot get UT done here. It is PAINFULLY obvious. I just hope that Hart and company actually hire a big time PROVEN coach when he is gone. We see where the cheapskate route has
gotten us. It's time to put up or shut up, or be stuck in less than mediocrity.

After reading the bolded portion, I read the rest of your post in the voice of Foghorn Leghorn.

It made your post, and the rest of the thread, almost worth reading. Thanks bro.

thanks for making my point.....we didn't lose to a WR.. that was my point and I am fairly sure I pointed out the offensive ineptitude. That was mostly predicated on 3 turnovers a missed field goal and a failed 4th down attempt.

Outside of the first int (which I didn't count in the 4 plays) all came when we were either well in scoring position or in the case of the second int when we needed a game winning drive. That leaves a bare minimum 9 points left on the field from poor execution not bad coaching. Coaching got them in position to score 3 times that we failed miserably. Bad snap, fumble, missed kick.

Again I am not arguing the loss is excusable I am merely pointing out that people are oversimplifying why we lost. Very few on the fire Dooley bandwagon watched AND understood the game. most are just parroting what someone else said in another thread. "we got beat by a backup WR" is their rallying cry. That is incorrect, we got beat because we got beat. it is inexcusable but it happened and we need to look at why it actually happened so we can watch closely to see if the proper changes are put in place to prevent it ever again.

2 big things stand out to me. 1. We need to sign a real center or find one this offseason. 2. We need to find a kicker or fix the one we have. There are always other places we can improve but those 2 things were lurking all year and finally came and bit us square in the a--.
One center a punter and a kicker and we are in the hunt.....from the same poster that questioned bpv's football knowledge. Figures.

I would imagine losing to the likes of Kentucky is way more damaging to recruiting than anything that anyone on this site has to say.

Dooley is responsible for a 5-7 season this year. He is the head coach. The fanbase is pissed that a bargain basement hire isn't working out.

The fans are tired of being reminded that "just because you start for Tennessee doesn't mean you're any good" or that Bray broke his thumb or Hunter tore his ACL.

The man has done nothing but offer excuse after excuse and actually went backwards this year. There is no reason a guy like James Stone turns into a bench warmer. Saying he's not physically strong enough is a direct reflection on the staff.

There's no reason a guy like Brent Brewer becomes non existent or a CB never turn to find the ball in the air.

A 5-7 season speaks for itself. The fans don't have to do anything.

If anyone is responsible for the 5-7 season, the blame goes to Fulmer and Kiffin who left our Program in shambles. Dooley is making more progress toward getting decent talent than either of the two previous coaches in the last 6 years.

Even if a black hole opened up and swallowed the program whole the previous 10 years, we still should have beat Kentucky. I'll play your game though. Let's just go ahead and say it. NOTHING is Dooley's fault.

Senior class is on Fulmer. The lack of skill players/RB is on Kiffin. Neither of those things was a factor against that UK team. UT had more than enough talent on the field to put 14 points on the board against UK.

They were outplayed, out coached, and out classed.

Now that I have read some of these threads I now realize that some of the VolNation can see into the future. With that being said, can someone let me know when I will be winning the lottery?
I'll hang up and listen.

Pretty much sums my thoughts up. When you have more talent than the other team it comes down to coaching. We were out coached by Joker Phillips and Randy Sanders.

Our defense was not why we lost that game. Nice try though.
It certainly wasn't the reason we won it either. I didn't see the defense stopping them when it mattered. Whether you like to believe or not, the defense played a role in that loss. Sorry to burst your bubble.

If we had any semblance of an offense, UK likely never gets into the endzone. There is blame enough to go around for all but defense would be way down that list. Even a crappy offensive team is going to put points on the board against a good defense if you keep let them stay on the field.

Um...youth, injuries, dearth of talent...
Which one is CDD lying about?

In fact, we were a young, inexperienced, not-very-adept team crippled by the loss of some of our best players during a season in which we had to play several of the best teams in the country. No, our coaching was not solid all the time, but CDD was doing a lot of juggling all season. Sure, the General in his prime might have dealt with it, but those were different times, and, besides, you're not honestly expecting the second coming of Neyland, are you?

Very well said sir. Thank you. :good!:

It should be very clear to everybody, that complaining right now accomplishes nothing good, hell, it may even affect us negatively in recruiting (even 0.1 percent is too much), so I suggest that we stop the negative posts at least until signing day, after that, attack, destroy and criticize to your heart satisfaction.

haha this is just laying grounds for another excuse next year "our team is bad cause nobody wants to play here due to the negavols posting on volnation" haha its actually a good thing for a lot of posters since the old "fulmers recruits" wont be valid next season.

after bray went out it looked like nobody wanted to be out there playing...i can take the excuses in most of the games we were supposed to lose but we should have blown out vandy and ky...we should have beat ga seeing as how bray was in almost the whole game..fact is he hasnt beat any real team yet so the jury is still out on him....as far as the lack of motivation in the vandy and ky game i lay that squarely on a coach that cant get a team motivated and a coaching staff that obviously cant make halftime adjustments since we probably only scored about 10 points in the second half of all our games this year. bottom line is play calling sucked this year...and last. you dont have to agree with me but im guessing that you watched at least a few of the games that have been played the last 2 seasons with dooley there....how many times did you say "why did they do that"?
