This is all about the ability to draw top athletes to your program. Ultimately, that is what will return UTK to pre-eminence in the SEC. You don't get the top athletes to come to your program doing the slow build up. Except in the case of legacies, the best players want to be associated with the best programs. It begs the question: How does a program that's down create an air of greatness that will attract top players? By hiring a guy who is percieved as being a highly sought after, successful coach. What happened today is a prime example. A&M with Sumlin and UF with Muschamp hired guys who have the perception of being highly sought after, successful coaches. We don't have a coach with that type of gravitasse and we got punked, twice.
Got to go reshaft some Titleist and build some Miura's for the evening so I have to bow out.
I started a Golf Shop that I failed at time and time again but I finally righted the ship and now my business is very Blessed. I started the business with hardly any money and no backing out of my garage as it was better than unemployment 6 years ago. It didn't just boom overnight as I had to work at it for long hours and at times I felt like giving up on it but after a while the hard work paid off.
I have been given the opportunity to succeed after many failures in life and I believe I finally figured it out. Point is... I'm glad my friends and family don't treat me the way you guys are treating CDD. We don't know yet if this team is going in the right direction but many of you can't give him enough time to find out.
A rough patch doesn't make Tennessee a terrible program.
Tennessee is no worse off than Alabama a few years ago or Oklahoma in the mid to late 90's.
It already has taken time. If Dooley's the guy, UT will make a complete turnaround next year. If he's not the guy, the next guy will win pretty soon.rough patches get you bad players. So id say were pretty bad off at the moment. In a few years might not be the case. But youre right, we're no worse than bama back then. like someone else said in here. Itll take time
