Do we have the only delusional fans that make ridiculous hilarious predictions? 1-2 team is going to blast a Top 10 on the road

If a Butch Jones-coached team can beat Florida...
...anything can happen.
I wish I was a fly on the wall in that locker room at halftime. A different team came out and completely dominated the turds in every aspect. Dobbs and JJ of course did their thing, but I was blown away by the defense. They played like their pants were on fire. That 2nd half team looked like they could beat anybody that day. Sometimes when I'm feeling down about our team, I'll watch the highlights of that game. Will we ever play like that again? Idk... We're Tennessee.

These same fans still think we're vastly superior to Kentucky, South Carolina, and Missouri. When in fact, Stoops has turned Kentucky around and can recruit many athletes better than what we have here. We haven't beat South Carolina since Muschamp has been coach. And Missouri has owned us since they've joined the SEC. Even Vandy has our number the past few years.

I watch those highlights often. Something snapped in them, and it was awesome.

Their speed guy on offense is out hurt as well. They are going to be thin at several positions.

Florida was missing several key players v Kentucky; CJ Henderson, Jabari Zuniga and Amari Burney on defense, and Kadarius Toney and now Feleipe Franks on offense.

I can’t express enough how tough it is being without those 3 on defense. If you literally handpicked the best 3 players in terms of experience, quality, NFL talent, difference-maker talent you’d pick Zuniga, CJ and Burney. I have no idea if any or all will be available v Tennessee. That’s your best CB, your best pass rushing D-lineman, and your most versatile LB/Star/hybrid type player on defense.

On offense, while Toney is shifty and exciting, UF is loaded with similar players on offense. The game-winning play v Kentucky where Josh Hammond took the ball 70+ yards for a TD on the jet sweep would normally be Kadarius Toney. Freddie Swain can play that position. Jacob Copeland can play that position, so not really a devastating loss.

That brings me to Franks’ injury. Anyone following UF football over the last 3-4 years will tell you Trask and Franks are very similar in many ways. Big guys, good arms, although Franks’ arm is stronger than Trask’s (and everyone else in America) for that matter. Franks was getting the nod over Trask mostly because of some untimely injuries by Trask earlier in his career that helped Franks get way ahead of him in terms of in-game playing experience. They’re also very similar in terms of running the ball. Neither are gonna kill you with their feet, but they’re decently evasive and aren’t completely slow, immobile guys. You’ll hear debates over the next week about which option is the best. Optimistic UF fans will tell you they prefer Trask because he won’t be as prone to the wild swings in play like Franks was. Pessimistic UF fans will tell you Franks experience is more critical than the few bad plays he was prone to. Personally, while I don’t think much will change at all in regards to UF’s playbook or overall offensive production, I do think you prefer a guy who has already started and won twice in this game over a guy who hasn’t. The wildcard here is Emory Jones. He’s the future for UF at Qb and the only true dual-threat guy on the team. Mullen said yesterday that Jones will play a ton going forward.

Im not impressed with UF at this point either... as the number 9 team in the nation. Against us? I give us a 10% chance of winning.

I've already said this but Frank's is out and I believe so is a few other people for next week at Florida. That being said it's only gonna help us have a shot at beating Florida. If we come out and smack them in the mouth early like we did UTC who knows we might pull the upset.
You have a short memory right? Every backup QB who gets his first start agaisnt us looks like a Heisman, 1st round draft pick. EVERY SINGLE ONE

Oh I guess you want folks to concede? Sure we will have to play better, but hell no I will not act like we don't have a chance against Florida. We can win, we have to play well but it is possible. You don't play in the sec going in thinking your going to lose. Florida didn't look like world beaters tonight, sure there are good but BYU proved they aren't a bad team either and while losing to Georgia St should not have happened it looks like they are at least much better than the previous year. They beat Furman in a wild game last week and Furman nearly beat Virginia Tech. We still have to continue to improve, but we are not as bad as some make us out to be but as the season goes it will show itself. I hope UF feels like it's in the bag, as long as the staff and the players and the fans going down to Gainesville believe that's all that matters. GBO!!!!! Go get the WIN!!!!!

You just proved OP’s point.

Congrats.

And why will I be dissappointed? Im predicting a loss. I just dont think UF looks like a top 10 team. Are they better than us? Of course. Do they look beatable? Like I said I give us a miniscule chance at winning.

Protect the Qb, gets some TO's. It's the way they've beat us forever. Flip the script.. Tennessee is about 2 more classes away i think..

Please explain how Georgia State just lost to Western Michigan by a score of 57-10. Western Michigan also beat Georgia State worse than they did FCS Monmouth.

Just a few points to make.

It is hilarious to make crazy predictions like that, but...

1. UF is not a top 10 team by any stretch
2. We finally put together a game where we dominated an opponent that we should dominate
3. It is still UF and UT, where we could go down there and lose by 4 TDs.

Can we beat them? Do we have any shot at all? After watching UF last night we absolutley can beat them. Will we beat them? I am not predicting it because I dont think we have a competent enough QB to do it. It's the biggest thing holding us back right now.

I will say I have no problem with some guarded optimism,.

I will say I don't give a rats butt what you have a problem with. It's funny some of you guys get so butthurt about other fans starting threads about the possibility of beating Florida that you have to start your own thread to tell them they're delusional. Lol.

LOL, that what y'all are trying to do "help" somebody on VN.

Here's part if your delusional OP.

Theres another one somewhere that thinks there's a better chance that we hire Bob Stoops than beat Florida. Lol, think about that one.

Seriously, I think we lose in the Swamp, or if it was in Knoxville, but attacking what you think is stupid with stupid is stup.... actually it's entertaining. Never mind. Carry on.

Anything can happen. It’s why you play the game.

Having said that, in this thread I haven’t seen one post indicate why Tennessee will beat Florida other than Florida ain’t that good.

Where does Tennessee have a matchup advantage? What will Tennessee exploit? What will Tennessee do that Florida will have trouble with?

that they lose to pretty much every single year.

Reason - we almost beat BYU and beat UTC really bad and lost to Ga State because our coaches didn't prepare.

I remember in the 90's routinely making fun of UGA, KY and Vandy fans who talked smack about us when we owned them the entire decade. Now, many in our fanbase have turned into the same delusional losers those guys were predicting wins and how bad we would be etc.

It will be closer than you think

Beating the Gators is not beyond the realm of possibility. Though it is teetering right on the edge.

Maybe, but we definitely have some of the most weak willed, whiny a$$ babies of ANY fan base in the country.
