Do we have a five way quarterback controversy brewing next year?

I don't think Guarantano is transferring. I feel like it's his job to lose. If someone outplays him over the next 6-8 months then I'm sure Pruitt will play that person. But I do believe Jarret's experience with the offense will be a huge factor. If anyone dethrones JG, it will be Bailey. Maurer will be 3rd string.

maurer is gonna bounce. transfer

JG will be the starter followed by JT, then Hill and Bailey will redshirt!

Hill and Shrout are good depth. Doubt either one see meaningful action. The main 3 are going to be Maurer, JG, and Bailey. Obviously the goal would be to redshirt bailey and have JG start and excel, but things rarely go to plan like that. At least one person is transferring.

Based off our QB play this year there is absolutely no reason to think he cant at least compete for the job this year. I feel you on putting him on a pedestal but he is a highly talented pocket passer, and we dnt have a Peyton ahead of him. Our Qb's have been serviceable at best and i believe he is further along in his development as a QB then JG, JT, or Maurer were when they stepped on campus. If he is an early enrollee i like his chances to at least compete for the backup spot. We all know CJP has a short leash on our Qb's

A short leash on all the qb except jg

We have seen one with him as well. Anybody can say he stayed with JG too long early on but we only see the game performance. We honestly dnt know what the other Qb's looked like during practice leading up to the games. As a defensive minded coach im pretty sure CJP felt JG gave us the best chance to win. If Bailey comes in and lights it up early he will be the guy. I dnt think CJP is committed to any of the current Qb's on the roster and Bailey is likely the guy that he believes will help us take the next step.

Tennessee was 100th in the nation this year in total offense; 97th in scoring offense.

QB Completions dropped almost 4% from 2018 to 2019.
