Do pro-choice people say?

I'm fine with abortion under certain situations. To use it as a form of birth control seems ridiculous but it reduces the amount if folks on welfare.

Now, I believe in equality. If a woman who had a hand in getting herself pregnant (I'm not talking rape, that's different) with a man and can unilaterally decide to kill their baby then men should be allowed to remove themselves financially from support if they want nothing to do with the baby.

I find myself more and more convinced this is "fair" as far as that goes. OTOH, to your first point, I can see the probability of more folks on welfare. If the mother decides to keep the child and the father isn't held financially responsible then who will be?

I get that abortion is legal right now. But I also get that me killing my neighbor or boss or your kid is not legal. Why the distinction? Unless medically necessary for some reason or other, how is abortion different than the illegal killing in the examples above?

if you can't differentiate between removing a 10-12 week old fetus and killing your neighbor then there is really nothing to discuss

that option is already on the table but happens prior to intercourse. However if the woman agrees then the man can be released of his obligations after the fact. Probably rare but I've seen it happen

The mother. She should have made better decisions if she can't afford a baby. My tax money sure as hell shouldn't go towards others bad decisions.

You really want to make a list of things your tax money "shouldn't" be spent on? :banghead2: More to the point do you think that isn't where it would go...often?

I am much more upset about my tax money going towards studies that are conducted to tell me that a person gets wetter walking through rain rather than running through it. Or that cancer kills people. Or any number of retarded studies that are done that even people like Mav already understood.

Haha. I figured that would open a can of worms. Not sure if I understand your question.

Yes, the neighbor could at least defend himself.

I can't believe I'm reading this. You are actually advocating population control based on economics. If you are poor, your life has less value.

Sorry if it came across cryptic.

Don't you think that a bunch of women that get unintentionally pregnant and the father (legally) walks away financially won't end up on welfare if they keep the child? I think that highly probable.

All women (or men, or both to be sure, whatever) reversibly sterilized until deemed financially secure enough to have a child?

Not advocating...just throwing out there.

Sadly, they certainly would. I would prefer no one be on welfare.

I have come to the conclusion it snows more in the wintertime.

While it goes completely against my belief in small government and individual freedoms, theoretically, I really love that idea (if it were free and reversible).

Always? You need to check the definition of fact

do you have kids? The amount of things that can and do go wrong with pregnancies is astounding

Yes. Always. I'm not sure why would you even argue with this. A pregnancy carried to term ALWAYS results in a human life. EVERY pregnancy has risks. What does that have to do with what I stated. I suppose you could be talking abouta stillborn, but even a stillborn is a human. So, unless you'd like to share some case studies where women gave birth to non-human beings, I fail to see your point.

And who is concerned about the 'rights' of the mother?
Really? That is some scary Sh== right there. Hitler would be proud.

Sorry MP, but last I checked no one is trying to kill a pregnant woman.

If we really believe that the unborn are humans, then what kind of people would we be to endorse the murderous destruction of the innocent?

Sensationalism brought about by religious belief. Religious belief does not dictate policy.

Yawn.

Wow. Thanks for being extremely dense.

a stillborn baby is "a new human life"? It's human but not a life

It's certainly your right to disagree with it but you have no right over someone's body. That's all there is to it. If you want to continue equating abortion to cold blooded murder that's fine, but thankfully this country is trending away from that over simplified way of thinking.

Fetus at 12 weeks.
Hey Mom, I know we haven't met yet, but just in case I'm an inconvenience to your life, please feel free to have a doctor (who was sworn to protect life) invade your body, which was actaully designed to protect me and sustain me, and then inject a solution into my defenseless body that is meant to tear me apart so that I can then be vacumned out of your womb and thrown into a dumpster. Oh, and don't worry, it's not murder, because Percy said we are trending away from over simplified thinking.
Love,
Your unborn child.
