It’s on the table and is expected to get done, the question will likely be can it be retroactive. They can play 4 games without burning a redshirt in football.
Seems like basketball should change its rules if one minute burns a basketball redshirt. Not exactly equitable rules between the two sports.
Barnes is on the committee I believe. I don’t think he plays Aidoo yesterday if he didn’t have some kind of inside knowledge about the situation
The current rule is if a player plays at all (walks out on the floor for a second) then the redshirt is burned. Therefore, only Tambe is eligible for redshirt.
As BTO said, the rule is being reviewed for change.

What happened? It used to be as long as you played in less than 33% of games, that you were eligible for RS. When did they go back to the hard core rule of play at all and burn the RS?
I have to hope it doesn't matter for Aidoo. A 7 foot borderline 5 star shouldn't be a 4-year player if things go correctly.
If Aidoo was a borderline 5 star, why has he not played? The answer is obvious--he's not ready, and that might beg the question of how talented he really is. It's not like we don't need front-court help.
It has always been a lost redshirt as soon as a player enters any game other than the exhibitions.
The medical hardship waiver can be considered (appealed to the NCAA) as long as a player hasn’t played in more than 30% of games and none in the second 50%. Fulkerson made the cut by the thinnest possible margin.
I have no inside information. Just my own opinion. But I will be extremely surprised if we will see BHH show improvement next year while wearing UT orange.
He needs to add about 20 or more pounds of muscle to play in the SEC. the off season workouts and Summer work will do wonders. He has the skills to play and Barnes and staff will have him mentally and physically ready to play this Fall.If Aidoo was a borderline 5 star, why has he not played?
