If your son was a stud defensive back, would you want him coached by Monte Kiffin or Josh Conklin?

Coaches Ansley, Conklin, and Sunseri > Coach Monte Kiffin at this point. No disrespect to Coach M. Kiffin, but I think he is past his prime coaching years. I think by the end of this season, many on VN will quit talking about the past defensive coaches...jmo

Man come on you can't be serious. Until these guys prove something you can't say this. None of these guys you named have called a play on defense yet. Monte has dominated a Super Bowl with play calling. These guys need to at least coach a few games before you disrespect the old man.

Agree. I think we are going to be impressed with both Ansley and Conklin. But to compare a guy that's been a GA and a guy that came from NCAA FCS to Monte Kiffin is beyond absurd.

So what you're saying is ... Monte is really looking foward to embracing the traditions of death here on Earth. For instance , the funeral. Riding in the hurse. Singing "Highway to hell" all night long. It's going to be a blast. So get ready.

Sunseri hasn't even been a DC at a high level himself. That's ridiculous to compare them to a Hall of Fame coach like that.

Really??? :whistling: 2011-12 NCAA FBS Team Total Defense - USATODAY.com We were at #28 in total Defense playing in the SEC and USC was #54 playing in the PAC 10..... Hmmmm:no:

Sunseri was not our coach when we finished #28. I really don't understand what you're trying to compare here. Monte has won a Super Bowl and had jack squat to work with last year at USC. Sunseri has YET to coach a game as a coordinator in major college football.

:lolabove:

Did Sunseri coach that defense stat man? Oh okay......God Bless Ya

No , but Mr. Defense himself coached that USC defense. I think Monte was a good coach. Now , he is just living off his name. Time has passed him by. USC's best defense has been their offense. That's the truth like it or not.

Don't worry he'll find some stats and his buddy will co sign. Ansley hasn't coached as real coach on this level yet and neither has Conklin.

Yeah ask Oregon about that defense. And how does that make unproven guys better than a Hall of Fame coach? I'm listening :whistling:

I wonder what the "stats" would look like if they played our schedule last year? They were pretty special in 2010 too. But hey , it's Monte Kiffin we are talking about. It's about what he did. Not what he is doing now. Right?

Yeah that defense was starting freshmen everywhere. But give me some stats of the defenses Conklin, Sunseri, and Ansley have coached/coordinated? :)

Monty isn't even USC's DC. He is basically just there to hang out and advise if asked.

His best days of coaching, which were fantastic, are long gone.

474 yards. 26 first downs. Only had the ball for about 22 minutes. Oregon was driving late and lost by 3. Yep, the offense was key in this win too. You tell me.

I said nothing about the new staff. I just think Monte's better days are behind him. He can sell that name , but as time goes by , these kids are going to forget who he is or what he did.

Oh thats right stats only count when they support your claim.... Sorry I forgot how it worked... :good!:

And he's coaching against the best offenses in the country in the Pac-12.

BB, can you look up the numbers for when they were here? I think that defense, with absolutely no depth, was one of the best in the SEC.

I'll take Sal over Monte. If Monte is so Great tell me how he was able to Help Eric Berry with that interception record? Oh yeah he didn't. Lets see he entered the season roughly 37 yards short of the record and finished 20 short.... yeah he knew exactly how to use Mr. Berry.....
