I'm sure it's Awkward and I bet he may have some feelings for sure, but I don't think they gave up on him, they just needed a center. Teams trade players that they want, like, and believe in all the time. Gotta address the best way to better tour team, Luka wanted a center/lob threat. That has got to be awkward. The deal was rescinded for some reason. DK has got to have hard feelings, knowing they gave up on him.
I never heard of anything like that. The closest thing to it was that the player had a no-trade clause, and the story got leaked to the press. But it usually takes no more than a day for something like that to be cleared up.That has got to be awkward. The deal was rescinded for some reason. DK has got to have hard feelings, knowing they gave up on him.
Or he is a mature professional and realizing this is a business and it made sense. He has much higher career accolade potential and long term money making potential at this current franchise and market. Nobody is the right might wants anything to do with the dumpster fire that is Charolette. That has got to be awkward. The deal was rescinded for some reason. DK has got to have hard feelings, knowing they gave up on him.
I don't think the failed trade will have any effect on DKs playing time. Now the fact that he is behind multiple better players might. LA was not looking to get rid of DK, they needed a center and the team that had one wanted DK as part of the trade. The only other person they could have moved in that spot would be Bronny and Charlotte wanted him for that trade. DK is clearly currently a better player and therefore a better trade piece. Had either of the other bigs on the roster shown more potential this would have never been an issue.Williams failed Lakers physical and they chose to rescind the trade. Dalton back to Lakers. And this will be an awkward thing going forward. Don't know how often this has happened in NBA history, but only thing one can guess is his future in LA is very short-term and his playing time will be much reduced. Worst outcome for DK. Feel badly for him. Hope he can move to a better team and environment in his next stop.
Absolutely. Ask Alex Caruso or Kyle Kuzma of the benefit of playing with the Lakers.Or he is a mature professional and realizing this is a business and it made sense. It’s rare, but it happens. Most famously happened in a Lakers-Hornets trade, ironically.Williams failed Lakers physical and they chose to rescind the trade. Dalton back to Lakers. If your boss fires you on Monday and then calls you on Thursday and says just kidding come back.....how are you gonna feel about that?He probably knows it wasn't about "giving up on him", unless he has paper thin skin
Short sighted thinking. I guess he could count a little bit of cash now but he should not don't expect to count a lot later. If DK is smart, he will thank his lucky stars and if he has any feelings of "Laker rejection"...grow up and count the cash.
So Luka wants a center so they trade you to satisfy him, but that doesn't work out and now you have to play with Luka knowing he doesn't want you there because he wants a center. How would that make you feel. Plus his PT is gonna be next to nothingI'm sure it's Awkward and I bet he may have some feelings for sure, but I don't think they gave up on him, they just needed a center. He wasn't fired though, and the NBA or any professional sport isn't comparable to regular jobs. Weird take.If your boss fires you on Monday and then calls you on Thursday and says just kidding come back.....how are you gonna feel about that?
Regardless of it being a business decision or not. How do you feel in front of your current, then forner, now current again coworkers?

It's not remotely the same as getting fired. Goodness. He didn't get "cut"If your boss fires you on Monday and then calls you on Thursday and says just kidding come back.....how are you gonna feel about that?
