We have a couple of guys. They have a whole team of guys. And theyre guys arent just freshmen or sophomores. They are guys that are upperclassmen and then when they leave they have another highly touted player behind them or they can go get one. We are not in the same situation. We are however way closer to that situation than we were 5 years ago. And 1 of our 1st-2nd round picks didn't even play this year. We're finally starting to build a very good roster and y'all want to run the guy out of town before it can come to fruition and then we start the cycle all overWe have the #1 wr in the country and another 5 star OL coming in to pair with the #1 overall OL that we got last year, Plus we will have multiple 1st-2nd round picks from this years team.
Develop? The portal can get us experienced guys that need far less development and that can win now.it's time to develop. Four consecutive years with four different starters isn't doing our program any favors.

One of these players should be able to step up. If not, we aren't going after the right 4 or 5 stars.
Don't you know that Merk will be gone? Gmac and Brandon are not ready yet!it's time to develop. Four consecutive years with four different starters isn't doing our program any favors.

Agreed. No way we put our chips on a true freshman and Merk clearly doesn't have "it", so if you don't get a portal guy you're basically betting on George MacIntyre. If he would have gotten meaningful playing time and showcased some ability to lead to offense I would have no problem with that, but for reasons unbeknownst to us he did not. Despite looking absolutely horrible in limited opportunities, Heupel remained to committed to Merk as the backup. That concerns me a little bit. Seems like if GMac was as good as we hope he is he would have passed Merk on the depth chart by now.Whether it's Joey or another transfer QB, we have to go that route.

i think a lot of the problem is just going into a season with zero experience at QB......you can't do that. OSU has a junior back up qb that is a pretty good ball player. we have a RFr that has thrown like 10 passes in his career and a true freshman. Why do other schools like OSU start redshirt freshman at QB and have success while we have to bring in portal qbs every year and our 5 star qbs have to sit on the bench for 3 years to be ready? Faizon or Gmac need to be the starter or we have a QB development/Evaluation issue.
