Disney +

There IS a generation that loved the prequels. However they were little kids at the time and didnt bitch in chat rooms like adult star wars fans did at the time.
I don’t know if there will be a generation that loves the sequels in the same way. I used to see a lot of Reys and Kylos at Halloween though. My kids love the Mando corner and will definitely hold onto that as they get older as “their Star Wars”.

Yeah but to be fair...many bitched about ROTJ; the Ewoks at least.
Now see, I call ******** revisionist history on that. I distinctly remember the Ewoks being beloved by fans back in 1983 when ROTJ came out. Ewok toys were one of the hottest selling/most sought after Christmas items that holiday season. It wasnt until the internet came along in the 90's when I started hearing fans bitching about Ewoks.

There are two types of people in this world, those that say they always hated Ewoks and low down dirty liars.

I wouldn't know, I was a very small kid when it came out. I know as kids we loved them. I can see the older fans not caring for them.

It's this^. Ewoks were for the kids. If you were much more than double digit age you had to kind of dismiss them.

The dumbest thing I can recall though is the Droid Torture Room.

The Ewok plush was a hot commodity if I remember correctly.

I was a "tween-ager" when ROTJ came out. Even among my peers, nobody was bashing Ewoks at that time and believe me, we never missed an opportunity to bash something at that age.

As I said we just dismissed them as there to sell toys. The problem is they looked exactly like little people in fur suits and, more importantly, moved like that's what they were. To call them unconvincing in taking out even the lowest level of stormtrooper is charitable. If you could manage to watch it as almost comical all the better but I don't know how an adult could have pulled that off anything more than that.

Now if they'd have been able to put them on video as small but ferocious (think Sam in Trick R Treat) that could have actually been cool. (albeit maybe not as toy marketable)

I thought they were there for George Lucas' kids? they were going to be wookiees.
