Besides the horrible loss, I am extremely disappointed in the entire atmosphere in Oxford. I'm hoping the 11 AM start time was the reason for the letdown. The Grove was highly overrated. Lots of people, but no TVs, none of the pageantry I had heard about (dining room tables and chandeliers) from fans from past trips. There's no room for any gameday games such as cornhole or washers, and just an overall feeling that there wasn't a game about to happen.
The girls were no better than any other school I've ever been too, and it wasn't like it was too cold for them to show up (mid-70's and beautiful).
And on top of that, fans going in Gates 11 & 12 had to wait over half an hour to get through the line. We left the Grove 30 minutes before game time and still missed the first TD. Highly disappointed in the "pride and joy of SEC tailgating"
Like I said, the 11 AM kickoff could carry some of the blame. But I've been to The Quad in Bama at an 11 AM game and it is a way better experience (minus the Bammers) and Knoxville in early games has twice as much buzz around the strip.
