Your fault for not being smart enough to charge it before leaving your house
I was about to say is it just me or haven't digital tickets existed for like 10 years now. I've had digital tickets for several UT games even. Only thing I would say is make sure to save them to the phone so you don't have to get your data to work with 100k phones next to you lolIt’s actually super simple and quick. Been doing it for a few years at Preds and Titans games.
I’ve always bought a couple of tickets on-site at every game I’ve attended since being a student. Never had them ahead of time. How does that work now. Don’t say it’s easy. Seriously explain how my buddy at the tailgate who has a couple extra tickets can send them to me. Thx.
Boy, he makes it look and sound so easy.
Inevitably, it won’t be. Too many people, too many malfunctions, delays will be ridiculous, etc.
All this new technology in the world that theoretically improves your life, generally doesn’t.
Here comes the cluster **** of all cluster****’s.
NeverPeople are resistant to change, but there is a reason for technology. It makes things easier. People will need to plan ahead, but will eventually get used to it. Speaking of paper tickets, how many times have you forgot the paper tickets at home on the way to, or once you already got to campus? Had that happen to me at least once and it totally sucked.
WIFI at the Bravs stadium s really good. Can't say that about Neyland. Seems like they have the cart before the horse this year. It may be better next year, but I see problems this year. It is kinda like requiring everyone to buy an electric car with very few charging stations available. In fact, I am more comfortable buying an EC now than not having problems with the ticket situation this yer.Been doing this with Braves tickets for 3 years now. It’s really not a big deal. And I transfer tickets all the time and I’ve yet to send them to somebody and them not be able to catch on very quickly.
I’ve done this about 5 times in the past 2 weeks getting tickets sent to people.I’ve always bought a couple of tickets on-site at every game I’ve attended since being a student. Never had them ahead of time. How does that work now. Don’t say it’s easy. Seriously explain how my buddy at the tailgate who has a couple extra tickets can send them to me. Thx.
Network infrastructure is the only thing that can cause a headache in this process, but I can’t imagine that they’d go to this without knowing that they have the network capability to make it work. Stadiums everywhere operate this way now.WIFI at the Bravs stadium s really good. Can't say that about Neyland. Seems like they have the cart before the horse this year. Why? This is how it’s done everywhere now. Neyland is the only place I’ve been to in the last decade that isn’t digital. Preds games, NCAAT basketball games, UT baseball games, concerts, etc…I’ve been to all of these in the last decade and they were all digital. No issues. So much simpler. Some people are so terrified of anything different, it’s insane.
Well, believe it or not, I too have been out of the house the in last decade.
I have used digital tickets with little problem, however I’ve yet to use a self scanner like the one presented in the video. Tap your phone against the contraption and it reads your Apple wallet? You’ve done this before? I’ve never seen it.
Some lady with a barcode reader scanning my phone barcode….no issues. If that’s what you are talking about.
This is true. I mistakenly brought the wrong ticket to a game last year. I was told when turned back at the gate to go to the ticket office and show them my ID. They printed replacement tickets. I was agitated with myself and they said this happened more times that you might think.I read that you can visit the ticket office, show them your ID and provide the order number, and you should be ok.
That info wasn’t communicated by the school however. That’s just generic guidance from Ticketmaster.
It's the same technology as at the grocery store. When you see the little speaker looking symbol at the card swipe. You hold up your debit card, watch, or phone and it picks it up. Use it all the time at stores.
They had a few events at TBA without issue. I’m sure there will be some issues with Thursday but not the mass chaos some seem to thinkNetwork infrastructure is the only thing that can cause a headache in this process, but I can’t imagine that they’d go to this without knowing that they have the network capability to make it work. I am aware of the technology. My debit card has the feature. Maybe my area is just crappy, but the success rate of the 'tap' method is so low that I just forego even trying now and insert into the chip reader.
My hang up is how many knuckleheads will foul this up and make it a miserable process for those of us that can navigate the newer technology. Like the old timers, and 5 whiskey and coke guy at the pre game tailgate, who is busy shooting the breeze while waiting in line, hasn't prepared, and now is fumbling with his phone at the scanner.
Screen shots won’t work.take a screenshot of the part they scan before you leave boomer
I have tickets in my digital wallet. In the last few days I put a TN pop socket on my phone. Will it get in the way when reader is trying to read tickets? My phone won't lay flat is what I'm trying to say. It’s actually super simple and quick. Been doing it for a few years at Preds and Titans games.
