"Texas moved up three spots to No. 13 after its upset of the Aggies, followed by Vanderbilt and Utah. USC was No. 16 and Virginia, Arizona, Michigan and Tulane completed the top 20.
Houston, Georgia Tech, Iowa, North Texas and James Madison were ranked Nos. 21 to 25.
Houston, the Hawkeyes, the Green Machine and the Dukes were new additions to the rankings.
And Tennessee, Arizona State, SMU and Pittsburgh fell out of the rankings after losing last week."

I mean, yeah, we lost, but are we really considered less of a team than James Madison or North Texas!? CFP rankings below the top 12 are a joke!

Yes, we are. We stink this year and our sec wins show how bad we were.

We’ve done next to nothing this year. Our SEC wins were against teams that have really struggled this year

In my opinion they are just aligning the rankings to represent the teams that have a logical chance to be in the playoffs.

One of the three group of 5 teams (Tulane, North Texas or James Madison) will be in the playoffs and will more than likely get blown out in the first round.

The ACC team will be either Virigina or Duke - whomever wins that game is in.

If BYU defeats Texas Tech, there will be 2 Big 12 teams in the playoffs. That doesn't bode well for Notre Dame who now sits in the 10 spot.

Teams lower than 10 are out of the playoffs IF they hold true to what they said last year - only those that are playing can move so Miami, Texas and Vandy are out as they are not playing in their conference championships games and thus have no way to improve their standing (i.e. they are NOT replacing a team in the top 10. )

Keep in mind they have to position the three G5 teams in the rankings because they are going to have to choose one of those based on the conference championship games.

And if I understand the way this works the ACC could be left out completely. Duke is not ranked. If they win the ACC and James Madison wins the Sunbelt, then there may be two G5 conferences represented and no ACC. Am I interpreting that correctly?

That would be insane!

And some think Miami could get in - that would imply that they changed the rules from last year.

We entered the CFP rankings at number 1 in the first rankings of 2022. I believe the current rankings are the first time we have not been in the CFP top 25 since then. Sad, but we didn’t do anything to deserve to be there this year.

They effectively had to rank Tulane, North Texas and James Madison since they are still under consideration for a playoff spot as the 4th or 5th highest-ranked conference champions.

The U beats the Leprechauns head-to-head, have otherwise equal measures, yet are ranked behind them. Sure, Jan.sure jan.jpg

Who cares? The Vols choked. Big time.

But, just like last year... there's always next year.

We are bad and it’s not the lack of players.

Kicker can’t make a FG past 40 yards when it matters.

Defense can’t tackles with crap.

DC doesn’t know how to spy a dual QB on third on long when it’s clear he will run.

OC can’t calls plays under 2 minutes to save his life.

Zero second half adjustments.

We are a bad football team and honestly.

Vanderbilt should not be getting left out of the playoffs over Texas. TBH us playing as poor as we did in the 2nd half kinda hurt them. And overtime game might of helped them more.
