If it's Sekrion this week I may try that one solo. I made it to the end one nightfall just killing enemies with a fusion rifle for the Pocket Infinity bounty a couple months back. Killed myself at the ledge so I could start again at the beginning to finish the bounty.

Agree, in was definitely one of the easiest nightfalls I've participated in. The solar damage boost is nice and there weren't many enemies using solar, so yeah. :)

I ran it with Rosen on all three characters and didn't get anything but some legendary weapons that I already have.

The latest news is that the new raid will be available day 1 and it starts at Level 30. It was previously thought/assumed it would start at 28.

I figured that's why they ran the Iron Banner armor that has 30 light.

Don't know why they wouldn't sell a helmet or chest armor also though. I've done the raid numerous times and the only raid armor I've gotten so far is a chest piece this past Sunday. I'm not level 30(still 29) but it's not for lack of effort. I'm not real happy about being under leveled for the new raid. Hopefully I can get raid armor from the new raid, but I think my Titan is cursed when it comes to raid drops.

What's exotic shard's used for? I dismantled an exotic weapon because I've received 3 doing the raid and got a exotic shard......:dunno:

Its the last step in upgrading exotics now. You get them from dismantling exotics or buying them for Xur.

Lots of new Destiny information today.

Exotic weapon + exotic shard + 7000 glimmer = Upgraded exotic weapon (which must then be upgraded); limit 1 per week

Nightfall and Weekly will be bumped to 30 with the DLC

Raid weapons and gear will require radiant energy and shards, which are found in the raid or breaking down raid items. Eris will also have an exchange setup.

They also mention tweaking the loot drops in the new raid to be a hair less random and not award the same items over and over.

Is it just me, or does it feel like Bungie didn't have a solid plan laid out and is just making this crap up as they go along?

I think it's a bit of both. I don't think that's necessarily bad, either. I think they really want to mold it as they go along and not be dead set on how to proceed.

I'm not too familiar with MMOs, but I'm reading that weapons generally just fade out when new ones come out. At least it seems they want to keep the exotics important and let you upgrade it without having to get it on a random draw again. But, it could easily be argued it's just tiny things to increase the amount of time needed to be top tier again.

Just a bit ago, one of the Bungie guys posted that the article wasn't exactly correct and they should have a blog post up sometime soon to clear up some things.

I'm beginning to wonder how long this game will continue to hold my attention. I'm starting to see the futility of my efforts. Maybe I should just wait 2 or 3 expansions and then level up through the various raids at a quicker pace.

Great. I've done the raid 5 times and I've gotten gauntlets and a chest piece (I've got a maxed exotic chest piece, so I dismantled the raid one) I can't for the life of me get to 30. So I guess unless I start getting the drops I need I will hold off on the DLC.

Three times through the raid I've gotten next to nothing. Chatterwhite over and over, thanks.

Chatterwhite at the least 10 times.
Bungie should let you receive shards, energy or something for dismantling shader .....

When the DLC drops I think you're going to be able to purchase level 30 legendary gear from the Vanguard. Time will tell.

If that's the case I will be even more pissed. I've working towards it for a the last two weeks (I previously just did crucible and didn't care that much about light level) so being able to just purchase it will be sort of a let down.

They better make 30 gear for sale. I'll be pissed if I have to struggle with the weekly heroic/nightfall also just because I've been screwed on raid armor.

So all those exotic weapons we've got leveled up.....if you want to max them to the new level you've got to reset them back to zero experience.

That's garbage.

Slightly good news...it appears the base might be 302 which is slightly better than 300 when you do reset.

Quick and easy run just now. So nice having a team that knows what they're doing. Got shards and energy, a raid shotgun and AE. Not too bad.

It's amazing how seemingly bad your luck is in the vault. Hate to see it.

You gotta get something doing hard twice....that's 8 chances at some gear per run.

Maybe you'll have a severe upswing next week when the DLC drops.

Normal.

First run was good. I got the chests which were just shards and energy as usual but I also got the Raid shotgun (name escapes me ) and Atheon's Epilogue.

The run after that I literally got nothing. Not even a shader.

How big of a difference is it between normal and hard? I'm one upgrade in armor away from a 29.

I would say upgrade to 29 (28 multiplier wont cut it) and then try and get a group to run Hard with. 29s can hold their own with good maxed or nearly maxed weapons. You just have to be a bit more careful and prepared to fire more rounds into stuff than normal. And don't pick up the relic. 30s should carry that.
