Destiny

I would have agreed. Up till yesterday I had lost connection only 3-4 times since I bought the game.

I've read about people having connection problems with the game but it never affected me. Then it supposedly got worse with the last update. Didn't affect me.

Then yesterday it hit. Didn't have long, just wanted to get in a public event so I could get ascendant material. In the middle of a public event, got disconnected. Tried to go to other planets. Same result. Ran out of time and had to go to work.

Got on today and it's the same deal. Any planet I go to, I get disconnected from the Bungie servers. I could be patient, but reading the responses on the Bungie help forums that it's my problem is what really pissed me off. Nothing has changed with my setup.

Try quitting the app or a hard restart of he console. That usually does the trick if I'm having any sort of issues.

I've lost interest in this game after hitting 23. There's really nothing left to do but grind; I hate grinding.

I'm at level 25. If anyone wants to do some strikes (that are my level) or daily/weekly heroics today/tonight, hit me up.

Bungie Weekly Update - 11/07/2014
Nov 7 2014
Created by DeeJ
This week at Bungie, we “prepped some packages for deployment.”

What we’re up to might rattle a window or two, but our aim is to build rather than destroy. These packages are updates to Destiny. “Deployment” is how smart people like to dramatize the delivery of content to the Internet. Like a bomb. Or more like a care package, in this case.

At Bungie, there is a team. There are many teams like it, but this one is committed to giving you new reasons to play Destiny. They live at the end of the feedback loop. You tell us what you want your game to do. After some intent listening, they debate what they want to tackle first. Those decisions are also tempered by their own experiences in the game (one of them asked me to apologize for his exotic hand cannon killing spree in the Crucible last night). Their mission is to keep the Destiny experience fresh with new experiences.

Two days ago, I stood at a whiteboard and scribbled as fast as people could talk to map out a communication plan for all the promises we’re about to make. You’ve been asking for schedules and ETAs, but it’s best to save promises for the moment when you know you can keep them. Things we’ve been talking about and working on for weeks are about to hit your hard drive. Keeping this fresh batch of promises will require you to see this…

We’re inbound with several bundles of joy in our hold. They’ll land in the weeks to come. Some of them will give everyone new things to do and earn. Some of them will prepare the world you’ve conquered for some new arrivals, and push the boundaries. Your level of engagement will be up to you. Each of us finds our own level in Destiny.

Here are some things we’ve mentioned:
Channels for talking to matchmade teammates, if you so wish
Exotic weapons that are stronger and more interesting to upgrade
New gear to let you slip into something a little more Legendary
That which waits in The Dark Below

Here are some things we’ve kept secret, until now:
New shaders for your gear
Ways to preview items before you spend your Glimmer
Greater chances of “showers” in public spaces
Adjustments to some arenas that needed better traffic flow
New economies to equip you with upgrade materials
Fixes, patches, and other invisible technical evolutions
Some other tricks up our sleeve
Maybe even a more generous Cryptarch
(he’ll still be sort of a bastard)

Those are the broad strokes. More detail is on the way. There will be Dev Notes and Patch Notes and love notes on our forum to explain what we mean, why we’re doing this, how it will all go down, and why we think it’s awesome. For now, we just wanted to let you know we’ve been thinking about you, and working on some game changers we hope you’ll enjoy.

How about the ability to view our Grimoire cards from within the game?

How about the ability to set up private PVP matches?

How about letting us shoot from our sparrows?

How about double weapon wielding?

How about the ability to switch primary & secondary weapons without having exit to the menu screen?

How about the ability to actually communicate with players at the tower that aren't in our fireteam? Even if it's just text.

How about new planets to explore and more areas of the planets we already have?

How about missions that are more varied than simply "fight off enemies while Peter Dinklage, the slowest ****ing hacker in the universe, decodes ****."

Feel bad for Deeble, or whoever it was complaining about raid drops. I did my second raid on Friday. Couldn't beat Atheon AGAIN. It's hard playing with randoms. I really feel like that fight is not that hard at all, but you have to get through it 4 or 5 times and it only takes one person to screw it up any of those times.

Anyway, so I got my second piece of raid gear. I'm almost level 29. I have plenty of ascendant shards, but I need xp and I need to farm for relic iron. It's easy, but I absolutely hate doing it.

I want to beat that damn raid!

Here is this game in a nutshell...

"******nit! I hate this ****ing piece of **** game! This game doesn't give me **** and the leveling system is the biggest horse**** excuse of a system I've even ****ing seen!"

"Hey man, you gonna be on tonight?"
"Yeah I'll be there, same time as always."
"Sweet! I'll see you on there then!"

Maybe to you. I don't get that frustrated. I want it to be hard to earn drops, because otherwise they're meaningless.

A bunch of your other gripes are not about functionality, they are about gameplay features. Just because this game plays how Bungie wants it to play instead of how you want it to play, doesn't mean it's wrong.

I agree with you on a bunch of stuff, but there's a bunch that's just down to personal preference. They can't please everyone.

1) How about the ability to set up private PVP matches?

2) How about letting us shoot from our sparrows?

3) How about double weapon wielding?

4) How about the ability to switch primary & secondary weapons without having exit to the menu screen?

5) How about the ability to actually communicate with players at the tower that aren't in our fireteam? Even if it's just text.

6) How about new planets to explore and more areas of the planets we already have?

7) How about missions that are more varied than simply "fight off enemies while Peter Dinklage, the slowest ****ing hacker in the universe, decodes ****."

1) Yeah, that would be nice. I mean you can form a fireteam, but that's about it.

2) This isn't GTA. If you want to shoot from your vehicle, you have to find one that is capable of it.

3) Why? Almost every single weapon is a two-handed weapon. I think dual-wielding in this game would be silly.

4) It's about creating a mission-specific loadout and sticking to it. Pre-raid/strike strategy. It's clear with losing ammo after switching your loadout that this is the direction Bungie intended, and I don't have a problem with it.

5) Yes, this is needed, but let's be honest. You're not gonna be able to get a good fireteam going or anything. It would be strictly a social feature.

6) I think that will be handled with DLC, but I'm not real enthusiastic about the quantity of content revealed so far.

7) Definitely. I agree with you there. I mean, the game is strictly about killing stuff. You're not going to get anything real deep. But boss fights are a lot more fun than defending your ghost. They need more variety of strikes, and they need it soon before everyone gets burnt out.

No, I'm just pointing out that some of your criticism is silly. It's like me criticizing Call of Duty for not having jet packs.

Oh, wait...

Freak is a 26 now. Let's organize a Volnation run through the VoG.

I'm jonsing for more shards and energy. 50+ of each isn't enough. #inevergetraidgear

Webb doesn't play anymore. I would be down, but we would need two or three randoms probably.

I'm available Wednesday nights or Friday afternoons. I would love to give it a shot. I'll be 29 soon.

If you come up with a set time some evening or on the weekend, I will see what I can do to make time.

I don't play anymore but I would def play VoG with you guys. I am at 27 (I think).

I still think the game is good, just too many others out right now. I am sure I will come back when the DLC is out.

The list was part criticism, part wish list. Feel free to disagree but it's just my opinion on what would make the game better.

Did you ever get your exotic bounties finished? I have gotten 3. It really does seem like it takes forever to get your first one, and then they come flooding in faster than you want them. I dropped the one for Bad Juju, because I didn't need another exotic primary, and I can't have 3 bounty slots filled.

I'm still working on Pocket Infinity and Invective. 200 Nightfall kills with a fusion rifle is going to take a while. I chip away about 20 kills each time I play, so I should be done in a couple months lol.

The exotic bounties really are too damn long. I could get through them if I dedicated my play time to them, but there's so much else to do each week.

I finished two out of three. As for the VoG, best for me would be one night on the weekend but I could try and swing another night.
