Destiny

I'm already tired of this game. My friends are all addicted and play this 8-10 hours a day and I don't see how. I just find everything way too repetitive. Anyone else getting tired of the game?

Yes, that is why I have not played it in two weeks. Keep trying to force myself but I never can.

I'm still loving the game. Been playing with friends all night on my days off. Playing for a couple hours in the afternoon before work in the crucible to get my crucible rank up so I can buy armor.

Anyone else having issues getting legendary gear? I've had rare armor (blue) with max light (15) for a while now but I can't seem to get any legendary stuff. I typically do the daily/weekly heroic and crucible stuff. I don't farm...is that what I need to be doing?

The only thing I'll farm is the materials needed to upgrade my armor. Spinglass/Relic Iron/Spirit Bloom/Helium Fragments.

My armor has come from all ways. My legendary helmet was bought from my Vanguard mentor. My exotic chest armor I bought from Xur with strange coin. My legendary leg armor came from a legendary engram I got for my cryptarch rank going up. And my legendary gauntlets I got today from playing crucible. A blue engram that turned into legendary gauntlets.

Easiest way imo is to just play the game. Keep doing the daily/weekly strikes. Take whatever drops you get and buy what you want from Vanguard/Crucible/Xur.

If you did any of the queen's missions you would have gotten some legendary armor each time you finished.

I get the repetitive nature of the game. However the co-op aspect of the game with friends is just so much fun. I was telling a buddy of mine the other day that Destiny now almost just seems like a vehicle to get together and socialize with your buddies. While I know there are plenty of other games that do this, Destiny just somehow does it so damn well. Plus striving to reach that next level is addicting to me.

If I were a loner with no friends, just playing Destiny by myself. Yeah that would suck!

I play with friends and yes it is fun but there are better games out right now. IMO. Crucible I really like but doing strikes against the same enemies are boring.

Supposedly this game is a 10 year commitment from Bungie. I think we'll see a lot of content released over time to expand on the game.

I've been playing the game since launch and I am level 25. I am just NOW starting to get into the competitive portion of the game with the Crucible (currently doing the Iron Banner). Overall I really like the game and I have put by far more hours into Destiny than any other game so far this generation.

Just curious, what other similar games that are currently out on next gen consoles do you think do anything better than what Destiny is currently doing?

I don't know if they'll do better but I'd imagine they'll lose some people to the halo master chief collection.

Probably the new cod too.

Yes, pretty much as soon as I hit lvl 20 I got to lvl 24 within a few hours by getting all blue armor at 15 light. Then progress just stopped for like 2 weeks. I got the Queen's Helm as my only legendary, and I've upgraded it some so now I'm level 25.

I pushed hard this weekend because I'm right on the brink of getting tons of equipment, though. I'm 2 coins away from being able to get an exotic from Xur next weekend. Plus I'm about 200 rep from Dead Orbit rank 2, when I'll be able to afford to buy 2 more legendary pieces.

Then, if it works out right, I'll have all legendary armor with 1 exotic. Still no weapons, though.

If you think GETTING Legendary gear sucks, wait until you start trying to upgrade it!

Yes! I still only have 1 legendary (helmet), but I'm already more worried about upgrading the legendaries I've yet to acquire than I am of how I will get said legendaries.

Yes, it's repetitive as ****. You just do variations of the same 5 or 10 strikes, and then harder versions of story missions you've already completed.

I hate that I'm so addicted to it, but I am. Really just recently, as I'm on the verge of really maxing out my armor. I only played 5 or 6 hours a week until this past week. Once I get all legendary armor, then I imagine it will be nothing but farming for ascendant shards, and I'll get bored REAL quick.

I didn't see your last question. No. "Engram farming" is terrible. Just play. If you haven't already, join a faction. Collect bounties and get up to rank 2 in your faction. Then you can buy legendaries with crucible marks.

Alternatively, if you don't play Crucible, you can just keep collecting Vanguard bounties and racking up rep and marks to buy things in the Tower from your Vanguard dude.

Also, do the weekly heroic strikes. You get 3, 6 or 9 strange coins from doing these at level 22, 26 or 28, respectively. You can get a legendary, class specific piece of exotic armor from Xur, who appears Fri-Sun in the tower. His location changes weekly, so google where to find him once you've saved up at least 13 coins. Exotic weapons are more expensive. Like 20 something coins.

I havnt played in 2 weeks and im a 29. Stupid you have to waste time doing runs for helium, spinmetal, etc to upgrade your armor and weapons. Then you gotta do strike after strike to get shards. Jus got boring as hell doing the same thing. Did the raid a few times. Was pretty fun

Yea, I hope Bungie gets some raids/strikes for a 5-6 member fireteam that can be variable difficulty. Not all of my friends that I play with are high enough level to do the strike. 3 of us are 28/29, but one is 22 and another 24. It would be fun do be able to do stuff like that with my friends instead of random people.

25 Titan Defender

But I should be level 26 or 27 this weekend if Xur has an exotic I can justify buying.

I think my titan is level 23, I am going to try to play some this weekend and get back into this game.

Great. I'm usually on some Friday afternoons and I'll probably be on some Saturday afternoon, too. We should try to knock out the weekly heroic strike. I haven't looked at it this week yet. Last week's was very difficult. I found a way to break the boss fight so you could win, but that was yesterday and I didn't get a chance to try it out before the reset today.

I usually play 10pm - 1am. Level 27 Titan currently.

Advice I can give 26/27 level players...get someone(s) to do the Nightfall Strike with you, and do it as early as possible when it resets on Tuesdays. The xp bonus for the rest of the week is nice. It's tough, but a great bonus.

I haven't done the VoG yet. I'd like to. If anyone here does that or wants to do it again and you have a crew, let me know. I can probably get a 29 Hunter with us if the timing is right. I might just use destinylfg this weekend to knock it out.

Advice for newbs or low-20 lvl players is level up your Vanguard (or Faction if you play PvP). Get an exotic from Xur, armor from your class mentor, and weapons from your faction store. Do missions while farming for spinmetal/helium/blooms. Every bit helps rank those up.

All of this and get a gold rating on a public event every day. They're usually pretty simple and it doesn't take long. Just look up a schedule online. Destiny Public Events - Timer and Map

You'll get at least an ascendant material or strange coin for public event gold rating. And sometimes you'll get more. Today I got 2 ascendant shards/1 ascendant material for doing a public event.

Even if you can't use it yet, ascendant material is vital for leveling up legendary/exotic weapons and armor. And strange coin is what Xur takes from exotic weapons and armor. He'll sell a random exotic armor engram for motes of light but I won't buy those. No guarantee you'll get something for you class.

I used destinylfg.com tonight. No friends on and wanted to try the Nightfall strike. Posted a request, had an invite within 2 minutes, and we were in the game 2 minutes later. Worked well. Unfortunately, we died half way through the last servitor. I'll try it again tomorrow.

Also, I forgot public events. Good point on those. So, I usually spend 20-60 minutes doing the daily PvE bounties, the daily strike, and at least one public event (Earth cause it's easy and quick). Then help friends or find items I need.

That's my routine also. Don't get a chance to play with friends till the weekend since I work nights.

One of my friends I play with follows a guy on youtube that posts simple walkthroughs for beating the Nightfall strikes. On all of them he finds a spot you can camp without taking too much damage.

This might be him. Not sure, but it's pretty much the strategy we followed. Pick off enemies from distance, hide under the ramp for Archon Priest. Level 28 was no problem.

Also, if you get a chance to buy the exotic sniper rifle IceBreaker from Xur, I'd recommend it. You can't pick up ammo for it, but it continually respawns ammo every few seconds. Nice having a powerful sniper rifle that always has ammo. Makes strategies for PvE in the above video a lot simpler.

I'm on XB1. My buddies I play with were xbox fanboys and wouldn't consider buying a ps4 so I just stuck with xb1.
