Wow, who would have thought a year ago, this lawyer from La. Tech., with a career losing record would hold the fate of Mike Hamilton in his hand. I'm beginning to like him more and more......Now, if he can just beat a team with a winning record.

Dooley, who is a new coach and who has not been successful at all as a head coach and who just had a bad year, will decide the fate of the athletic director to whom he reports? It's ludicrous. That would be a recipe for anarchy in the athletic department. Would Dooley hire or sign off on the new AD? And then who will sack Dooley if he doesn't get the job done? Good grief. I don't know where this came from--but the idea is insane. :loco:

I've seen some stupid things on here (some from myself out of anger) but this could top the cake. Wow

Pal, read Volwarrior33's thread posting a TOS synopsis on the current situation. You can read more than one sentence without taking your Ritalin, can't you. :finger3:

I think the op probably means if Dooley starts winning.. hamilton stays since he hired him. I'm hoping Hamilton isn't here to see how 2011 football even turns out.

Of all the ridiculous threads that have been started the past 5 days, how is this one the worst???
Despite the lack of support from our fan base, Hammy is probably not gone right now. That being said, you can guaran-damn-tee that he's on the hot seat. Most of us would/should agree that Dooley is a coach we can be excited about, but as of right now the jury is still out on whether or not he can get us back where we wanna be. If he does become the guy to bring us back, Hamilton's support will return.

Good grief. You people talk about Dooley is just insane. The man took over a program that was a mess. Everyone loved Kiffin when he first got here. He left a team that should not have won 6 games. Tennessee lost the whole O-line a starting QB,a starting running back, and on Defence Rogan,Eric Berry and some on D-line and Dooley took this team and won 6 games. Wait until he gets the players he needs. Dooley and this team has been using pea shooters against the big guns of the SEC.If you do not see that then you do not know football.

Would actually help if he had simply stated or prefaced with- "After reading VolWarrior33's comments in another thread".....

If this is true Hamilton is pretty safe for at least the next two years, unless football completely blows up.

I believe the OP read the Volwarrior33 post and misinterpreted the line about Dooley. The line should have been interpreted as "the success of the football program will determine the fate of Mike Hamilton". It definitely should not have been interpreted as "Derek Dooley is now calling shots in the Athletic Department".

I am glad you are not my doctor, rockydoc.

Pretty sure that's what he means.

I think this poster believes that Hamilton will be around for the rest of the Dooley era, and if it doen not go as planned, then Hammy will be on the ship out with Dooley. Of course, I do hope it works, because I really like Dooley.

That IS how I took it, and how he meant it, from his follow-up post.

He is probably glad you are not his patient.
