BPV doesn't need validation of his "fanhood" from anybody. I agree with him wholeheartedly also. If Tennessee isn't going respect the fans enough to hire somebody worthy of being here then why should any of us continue to donate our hard-earned money and spend inordinate amounts of time and effort to support a program that seems to be settling (desperately I might add) for someone like Dooley....

I couldn't stomach watching my mother getting drunk and pleasuring a room full of males.

I certainly wouldn't pay to watch it.

Does that mean I don't love her?

Here's the only Dooley I know anything about, and I don't want him to coach UT, either. :)

He'd be a better fit than Derek.... At least he'd have a little something for the fans to drown their sorrows with while watching a once-proud program go right down the toilet......

BPV, what is your biggest issue with Dooley, is it that you feel he is below what UT should be hiring, or do you have a problem with his bloodline, or is it a little (or a lot) of both?

You'd think for someone who knows the area of Louisana and was such a great recruiter that he'd have a better record than 4-8. That was worse than his 5-7 season in his first year. He's doing a heck of a job.

Yeah, I am listening right now. Hyams sais Dooley is going to be the next UT coach. Contract is in negotiation but he has not told his team yet. I just hope Hymens is confused again. 17-20 record at LA Tech. Good grief!!!!!

The VolNation may not see it now, but if in fact Coach Dooley does go to UT, you will be getting the best young coach around and a fine man. As a Tech alum, I have had the privlage over the past few years to see Derek's work at the University and around the community. He has taken a program out of the depths and has revitalized it and has brought a vision to the school and the community of what Tech will one day be. Derek and his family have been a huge asset to our small community that we would hate to see go.

After MH hires a new coach, fire him and hire Fulmer as the new AD. A new young coach will need some guidance and Fulmer is it. Im hoping the board will get off there butts and make this happen!

There is one thing that is known about Dooley. He is highly respected by Saban. Saban said that he is a fantastic recruiter and he has all the right ingredients for a head coach.

I don't know much about Dooley, but I do know that Nick Saban is a fantastic coach. I know that Nick Saban is extremely critical and very rarely gives compliments...to recieve such high marks from him, the guy has to be good....just saying.

He did coach under Saban at LSU. He knows the South and has recruited for LSU. His dad was an Auburn guy who became a legend at Georgia, perhaps Dooley will be the son of a Georgia legend and Virginia guy who makes his mark at Tennessee.

At least it's not Cutcliff!!! He's young like Kiffin so should be able to connect with the recruits.

And yet people win at places like ECU(NC), Southern Miss, Marshall(WV). LSU is Lousiana Techs only real competition recruiting in the state.

You work with what you've got and if you don't succeed then you suck as a coach.

Funny he won 8 games in his second year with someone elses recruits but he gets to year three and his recruits blow.

I'll watch the games but until he wins, I am going to be waiting a season or two for a real coach.

Our football team is the laughing stock of the SEC and across the country right now. At least we have basketball. As of now, this is a basketball school. Pearls rankings in the polls the past couple years are better than anything the football team has done lately.

Dooley is a good coach guys... give him time and support and he will excel. Don't forget the supporting cast will be great.

Don't see what's so good about this guy. Losing record including the worst one in his 3rd yr at La Tech and recruits will have no idea who he is. He shouldn't even be up for the Memphis job.
