I'd take him. Ever been to Ruston and had a look at La Tech's facilities?
Dooley has to work against that--and the crap left to him by Jack Bicknell, Jr.
They were so damn awful Rice rolled into town and gained 692 yards rushing on them (Never thought I'd see that in my lifetime--but it actually happened.). It took years for the old AD and President to find the money to fire Bicknell--so things got worse and the fans stopped going to games.
He's made them a better program and actually laid the groundwork for the future in terms of facilities.
He'd be a good fit here because he's seen hell. He's not had it easy like Muschamp. He's not fallen into great jobs like Kiffin. There are challenges to working at Tennessee...especially as it comes to recruiting. But these would be like a walk in the park for someone who has had to build all phases of a program in Ruston.
I don't necessarily want the guy who has had all the breaks. I'd like a coach who has had a struggle and knows what it is like to build from that.
The other guy said his mom is a dingbat. Holy Crap I'm finding that really funny right now for some odd reason. Dingbat? We hire him and I'll always think dingbat.
If we get Dooley we will lose every recruit and i would be in for letting them have waivers. Dooley is a bad candidat.
Then he must be stupid to take such a job and shouldn't get a major HC job until he proves he can win something.I'd take him. Ever been to Ruston and had a look at La Tech's facilities?
