Depth Chart released

No Big Charles in the two deep? Mosely will soon be giving Martin a breather, don't fret...Sherion didn't make it.... Jumper tho..... just no. No Bryant, but Jumper... guess they know something we don't... hope he proves us wrong, but so far all I've seen is a kid who practices well but chokes on the field and stays out of position. Tons of young talent on that two deep....

That's what I thought too. Moseley got beat early and often almost as much as Justin Coleman did. Really hoping Martin either reclaims his job or Shoop turning him into a true lockdown corner.

Moseley had more tackles and passes defended last year than Martin or Sutton

tackles pd
Moseley 27 10
Sutton 24 3
Martin 17 4

My main concern is how much money we wasted on hiring Shoop when there are so many more knowledgeable DC's on this board that would leave their job at 7/11 to coach.

Yeah, Shoop is definitely a dumba$$ because Paul Bain's name is nowhere to be found.

Obrien is good but you gotta think of kmac had really established himself he'd be starting over vickers

Vickers is very good...I'm excited to have two big, strong, mean upperclassmen starting at DT and even more exciting to have a pair of 5 star sophomores rotating in so we always have a fresh set of bad asses in the middle...

He was thrown at more.

He also had better stats than Hargreaves

Presented is a cornerback who fought his way through depth under a snap limitation that emerged in Knoxville, but Moseley amazingly did his work as a true freshman. Seriously, how much of an impact could an 18-year-old really have had in defensive coverage? He simply allowed a lower completion percentage (36.0 vs. 43.9), yards/coverage snap (0.66 vs. 0.68), and coverage snap/reception allowed (12.1 vs. 13.6) than Florida’s Vernon Hargreaves III. The sky is the limit for this sophomore out of Greensboro, North Carolina.

This was for 2014.
He took a step back last year.

Exactly and I didn't think anyone could get beat as often as Coleman did. Hopefully Shoop being an elite secondary coach will help Martinez get the most out of our DB's and safeties. It's been mentioned many times that Martinez isn't the best technique Secondary Coach and it was even more obvious when he didn't have Terry Fair helping out.

Me too. It was shocking how bad he was in coverage during games. He was one of the surest tacklers on our team but he had to be.

I wouldn't worry about who's starting on the "depth chart" because we should all know by this is just Butch putting names down on a piece of paper because he has to name starters. I think he put O'Brien starting over K-Mac because O'Brien has earned his right to starthe and this will push K-Mac to up his game that much more. The general concensus from all the media guys who have seen him say he's been a beast, so I have no worry that Kahlil will have a great season this year. Also like what I'm seeing from the safety spot with Abernathy starting, but our defense will have so many looks and rotations that we will see Gaulden there at times too. I'm ready for us to come out and show everyone what we can really do.

The issue with K-Mac not starting is technique related. CBJ said the he needed to improve his pad level. It's something he is working on improving. He'll get there. As CBJ says, it's a developmental position.

Its stupid to say those 2 games were lost because Kirkland didn't start. Stupid.

Colton Jumper caused Florida's first TD and his holding penalties resulted in Oklahoma's tying TD in the 4th quarter.

Starting Jumper over Kirkland cost us those first 2 games.

TKjr wasn't listed as the starter as a sophomore (when Mcniel was back) guess he's a bust. Jack Jones isn't either, guess he's a bust too, Guess your beloved first round pick Martin is a bust too. Taylor and Phillips aren't even listed, so they are busts too?

Shoop, Butch the whole staff> anything you say

Ok. You've convinced me. Kahlil isn't a bust.

This is just another stupid coaching decision by Butch Jones. Just like going for a FG on the 6 inch line or going for 1 when you're up less than 2 scores.

Butch Jones....master of pulling defeat out of the jaws of victory.

I said it last year, in the off season, spring ball, and fall camp. If Mosley is starting come SEC play, we are in trouble. He apparently does really well in practice, then gets torched when it matters.

For a guy who is so good at evaluating guys when they are coming out of high school, Butch seems to have no idea who can play when it comes to depth chart issues.

I agree with you that starting Moseley after his disasterous season in 2015 makes no sense. I could care less how good he is at practices.

He was TERRIBLE during the games. And that's all that counts.

Who is starting the change.org petition to make D4H head coach?

I'd do it but I'm on mobile right now.

You keep citing his stats from 2014.

2015 was last year. And he got roasted in 2015.

I hope he returns to 2014 form but you can't rewrite 2015. Moseley was simply TERRIBLE.

Probably because they threw at him way more than the others. Teams typically stayed away from Cam and threw at Moseley early and often...As far as Martin he missed games early in the season so his stats would be a little less.
