Depth Chart released

I agreed with you he is not a bust, it just sounded like when you said "being listed second is first string", that you thought Mckenzie was listed as a starter. Sorry if I misunderstood. :hi:

No problem. My point was that their 1st string rotation will assure that at least 4 DT's will get plenty of reps and very possibly about the same number. D4H has a unique ability to take something good, twist it with his "superior knowledge" (his claim), and make it bad and stupid.

Lets hope you are right and this is Butch being stupid again. I just wish he would learn from his previous mistakes. This idea of going with experience just for experience's sake is dumb.

He cost us 2 games last year by starting Jumper over Kirkland. Lets hope his dumb personnel decisions don't cost us anymore games.

Its stupid to say those 2 games were lost because Kirkland didn't start. Stupid.

A shocker for me was not Richmond starting at LT but a true freshman shown as his #2 behind him, that kid must be very good.

From what we hear he is very good. But dont forget, on the OL it's a "best 7 or 8" scheme. If Richmond went out they most likely shuffle everyone and Tatum does not step in and start. Just my thoughts.

Yes. I understand exactly what you said and meant... and it is STUPID.

Another STUPID comment by you. They'll play 4 or 5 players in the first string rotation at DT.

Their development of KM appears to be extraordinary.

Your ignorance is only matched by your arrogance in pressing the issues when you're wrong.
Its retarded to think Butch tells everyone this guy and this guy and this guy are starting... And the entire coaching staff just keeps quiet because Butch is their boss, especially on the defensive side with Butch is an offensive guy.
Butch: Hey Bob, I know you know a heck of a lot more about defense than I do, but I want these guys starting, regardless of if you think they shouldn't.
Shoop: O sure sure Mr coach, sir. Im sure I can work around your stupidity.
:p

I personally like what is listed on the depth chart. We have really good to great ballplayers not even listed that step it up this year also. Like some have said, with the rotation on the dline, look for everyone listed to play a lot. This depth chart is not set in stone and what you see now could be different in two or three weeks. Just glad there is enough talent now that it can be discussed about and not worry about a big talent dropoff.

I don't see Trent Thompson (Georgia) listed as a backup. I don't see Terry Beckner (Missouri) listed as a backup. The other 5 star DTs from his class were already starting LAST YEAR. There is no way they would still be backups as SOPHOMORES.

Hate to say it but Kahlil is looking like a bust. There is no excuse for him not beating out a mediocre talent like Danny O'Brien. Its not like the guys he's playing behind are gonna be high NFL draft picks. Both Vickers and O'Brien are fringe NFL players at best.

All in all I'm super disappointed in him.

TKjr wasn't listed as the starter as a sophomore (when Mcniel was back) guess he's a bust. Jack Jones isn't either, guess he's a bust too, Guess your beloved first round pick Martin is a bust too. Taylor and Phillips aren't even listed, so they are busts too?

Shoop, Butch the whole staff> anything you say

I personally hope A Johnson sees some time on the field. I can't help but feel he was screwed by the "system". Would love to see him advance his opportunity to play on Sunday. IMHO.

Just based on his style, I'd say it is collaborative but he maintains the right to overrule someone if he feels strongly about it.

I've criticized him but believe Jones has a very good leadership style.

I think there is zero chance that he just accepts whatever his assistants say OR that he dictates to them.

O'Brien is a RS Senior, 5 years in the program, don't discount him or Vickers.....both are very good players or they wouldn't start

Wow, kmac behind Danny O. DT and OT concern me

They are bringing KMac and Tuttle along gradually. Tuttle is coming off injury and KMac is basically rebuilding his body- it just takes time for some of these guys to click that's all. Besides Butch has never had depth like this. I expect they'll be rotating a lot of guys in and out of the interior and secondary. I think by midseason the only defenders that will play "the whole game" are prob JRM, Kirk and Cam. JMO

I agree I dont see an owner go into his least knowledgeable department and override the manager and supervisors suggestion for lead on a particular line. Only gonna happen if there's some buddy buddy stuff going on.

I also cringe when I see Moseley starting. Would rather have Martin opposite Cam. JMO
I said it last year, in the off season, spring ball, and fall camp. If Mosley is starting come SEC play, we are in trouble. He apparently does really well in practice, then gets torched when it matters.

Glad we've got guys like D4H here to evaluate talent. Wouldn't want one of the top 5 DCs in the country making the calls for us when we've got that kind of football mind available right here from our toilets.

Right there with you..saw Mosely get beat more times than I care to mention last season..Martin has all the potential in the world to be a lockdown corner..either way we finally have an elite secondary coach in Shoop..Martinez is a good recruiter but a horrific secondary coach..With Shoop we should see much better secondary play. When Terry Fair left our secondary play worsened, thank god for our DC hire being an elite secondary coach.

My main concern is how much money we wasted on hiring Shoop when there are so many more knowledgeable DC's on this board that would leave their job at 7/11 to coach.

Pro football method remember last year some were complaining about Sutton
https://www.profootballfocus.com/top-25-breakout-players-of-2015/

2014 snaps: 370
2014 PFF rating: 76.6

Presented is a cornerback who fought his way through depth under a snap limitation that emerged in Knoxville, but Moseley amazingly did his work as a true freshman. Seriously, how much of an impact could an 18-year-old really have had in defensive coverage? He simply allowed a lower completion percentage (36.0 vs. 43.9), yards/coverage snap (0.66 vs. 0.68), and coverage snap/reception allowed (12.1 vs. 13.6) than Florida’s Vernon Hargreaves III. The sky is the limit for this sophomore out of Greensboro, North Carolina.

Guess it all came out in the wash over the course of a full season. I just recall Moseley getting roasted vs BGSU, Florida and Georgia and I assumed that's what helped to lead to Martin seemingly taking starting position over once he got healthy

Justin Coleman 2.0

Exactly and I didn't think anyone could get beat as often as Coleman did. Hopefully Shoop being an elite secondary coach will help Martinez get the most out of our DB's and safeties. It's been mentioned many times that Martinez isn't the best technique Secondary Coach and it was even more obvious when he didn't have Terry Fair helping out.

I'm submitting your name for AD since the position is now open.

That's what I thought too. Moseley got beat early and often almost as much as Justin Coleman did. Really hoping Martin either reclaims his job or Shoop turning him into a true lockdown corner.
