Deficit up 17%

I like that's it's getting attention but honestly you'll see Butch Jones welcomed back as Tennessee football head coach before the fed govt runs a revenue neutral budget.

And forget about even paying down the debt 1 dollar. Many of us weren't alive last time that happened. It hasnt gone down from one fiscal year to the next since like 1956 or 57 I think. Gone up every year.

Won't it be fun when America is utterly bankrupt and the Rs and Ds can point fingers at each other for the collapse???
I wish more people realized what kind of threat this is. They can argue and bicker politics over pretty much anything. Abortion, 2A, immigration, ect. But the debt is different. That legitimately scares me.

Just wait for when we have free Medicare for all, free tuition, slave ancestor reparations, $1000 a month for just being alive and all of the other "perks" the Democrats want us commoners to have.
Actually one more war should just about do it

He's not tho.

I'm sure you have a cute little post ready but, I don't see him sending troops into any place they weren't already when he took over. He has pretty much told our allies that we are not going to be their freebie military anymore. What makes you think he's gearing up for another conflict? And don't regurgitate the crap about Korea, they know better than to press Trump and China and Russia know it too. Having a spine with the power of the US military and the US economy is a huge advantage that works in our favor.

Who said he is gearing up for another conflict? I said he's not trying to get us out of war. Regardless of the campaign promises he's failing to keep about getting us out of conflicts, I believe he's consistently positioned himself in favor of increasing military spending. This is the part where you need to remember this conversation is about our crippling debt.

Yes we have crippling debt. I remember having a conversation with my father in the early 70's about our "crippling" debt and asked him why we couldn't just print enough money to cover our debt. Debt is nothing new and until someone in our government GAS about things like our debt, SS or Medicare I don't either.

No one who supports taking in all of the worlds trash and putting them on government programs to become net-takers can complain about the deficit.

We’ve spent 6 trillion on wars in the past 18 years. We’ll spend more than that in two years of government healthcare, tuition, child care, etc.

We'll wear out the printing press soon enough. We're only 21T in debt. What's a few more wars or more socialism gonna hurt.

$6T with almost nothing to show for it. It's the most wasteful use of government funds possible, but hey, it's only $6T (or $18k for every man, woman, and child).

We always have the money for political and unnecessary wars but for healthcare, education and welfare of the American people.....nada. If we're going to be in debt it should be for something worthwhile.

What would be worthwhile? Training generations of people to be lazy, worthless, and expecting everything to be handed to them is how you become a 4th world country real fast.

Except for that's a lie, and it's a big part of why we are $21T in debt. I do agree with the point that we are better off spending the money here on constructive things, as opposed to destruction elsewhere.

Yeah, but it's a great society, poverty is ended, and everybody has access to healthcare.
