Defensive Leaders Should Step Up for a QB Change

For SEC players the incentive is the NFL and quitting because the other side of the ball isn't holding up their end isn't going to impress anyone in the league.

Not sure I’d want to be a defensive player busting my ass for a HC who thinks JG gives us the best chance to win.

Lol. What?

Clausen had ONE bad game. HALF of JG's games are bad. Those players may be worse than JG in practice, but there is absolutely no way in Hell that all of them are worse than him in-game.
LMAO

Casey Clasuen had a whole season with 310 attempts and threw 11tds and 7ints when he didn't have all World talent around him.

lmao.

He isn't good.

I don't remember Bailey being Black. JG is not Black either. What are you talking about?

I said he played bad. No defense. He had a bad game and a half. He had a perfect first half vs the best d in the country.

I have always said that. He has never been great, He has the most potential and talent. He gives us the best chance to win.

When Bailey or Salter change that then great.

He isn't even the worst on the team or in the 5 worst starting qbs of the last decade.

So in other words you just started watching UT?

I guess you just started too.
Started what , knowing that JG sucks ? I noticed the first game I had to watch of him. Thanks for playing though.

So they should demand the players that they know are worse than JG should play just in the name of making a change?

I guess we should have benched Casey Clausen when he had 4 fumbles in one half.

Makes perfect sense.
Or maybe even written off Dobbs after throwing 2 tds and 6 ints his freshman year, right?! 😉

Shrout showed he can with the quick int.

Maurer showed he can last year.

Do people not remember beyond one game or something?

Bailey is the only other qb that should even be discussed. If he is ready give him a shot.

The other guys don't play for a reason.
Shrout showed he was scared to mess up with the dbl clutch and int. That’s on Pruitt.

Maurer showed he can play last year with help from a coaching staff. Also on Pruitt.

And Bailey VERY NEARLY threw an int within his first 4 passes but he gets a pass that the others don’t because he was a 4*? Naw man..... let’s be consistent here.

I agree with half your post...Clausen had 4 fumbles in 1 half playing in a torrential downpour with a hurt thumb and a broken collarbone....a little different scenario there

Peyton had 4 ints vs FL in the first half.

My point was he is not the first or last UT qb to have a bad half or game.

Ok and again....Peyton and Casey were the best two and most successful QBs in UT history, stat wise and record wise....JG isn't even in the top 15 at this point and consistently has made the same mistakes for 3 seasons...not one off game

He didn't play that whole season due to a broken collarbone and still won more games than JG has in a season...

You really hate White QB's don't ya? Clausen had already established himself as a very good QB, something JG has yet or will ever do.

We honestly don't know if the backups are that bad bc they never get a full chance to succeed. I'm all for letting Shrout play a whole game without fear of being pulled for a mistake and see how he performs. You know, the same that JG gets.
Wow where did that come from? The fact you went there says more about what you think than what I've seen anyone else touch on that subject. Please tell us about the plight of the White QB sir. I have all my popcorn waiting for this one.

Isn't top 15? I guess you overestimated our past qbs. He will be top 5 in every qb stat. That would put him in the top ten. We don't have talent around him like past qbs.

ok I know I posted 2 minutes ago about laughing at the original posters stupid idea. I just felt I need to come back and say again....that is the dumbest thing I’ve read this week.

Dude you must not be familiar with k town's other posts, you are barking up the wrong tree it seems.

So tell me which of these QBs that JG is better than?

Manning
Clausen
Ainge
Bray
Dobbs
Kelly
Martin
Shuler
Streater
Scott
Warren
Robinson
Holloway
Dickey
Francis
Majors

He basically has the same stats as Crompton but with a whole season extra worth of games, I guess you could argue he's better than Cockrell or Worley although record wise not as good.

LOL... yeah. UT DOES have talent around him and especially this year. And you only want to talk about the stats that flatter him. He will likely be among the worst in RZ performance. He will be among the worst in points scored while leading the O. He will be among the worst in TD's per attempt.

And bluntly... anyone who has watched UT football for more than 3 years knows he simply doesn't compare talent wise to the guys on the list @Rickyvol77 just posted. In virtually any other stretch of UT football... he's a career back up... if that.

The only stat that ultimately matters... he will be the worst in the last 40 years... and it won't be close.
