the freshmen weren’t ready to play. You have to remember that guys like Beckwith and Bailey had no spring practice and missed most of fall camp due to quarantine. On top of that, Beckwith is learning a new position. This was just a weird season and our young guys didn’t have an opportunity to play right away.

QB is one thing. Being a RB isn’t exactly rocket science.

Well stated and they are all freshmen again in 2021. This is why Vols need a bowl game to work these kids and make up for limited practice time.

No but Beckwith is very tall so would have to adjust plus blocking schemes. Plus he missed part of fall camp to quarantine and some time to an injury (may have been shoulder I can’t remember).

Beckwith running reminds me of Dexter McCluster from Ole Miss that ran all over Tennessee while he was there during Fulmers final seasons. That explosive acceleration turns a 4 yard run into a 20 yard run and a first down. But I'm sure he was not ready like the rest of the youngsters that are here to fiddle and futz around on the bench during a horrible season that doesn't count against their eligibility anyway.
