Six years ago, I had a puberty blocker implanted in my left arm to pause the release of testosterone. It saved my life. I’m here today to write this story as a transgender woman and to sing as a soprano pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in musical theater at Boston Conservatory. Without the medical care I received and the relentless support of my mother, I would likely not be here for either.

New Jersey Adds an Option: Drivers Can Now Be Licensed as Neither Male nor Female
If you’re in New Jersey and in need of a driver’s license, your options just got upgraded.
As indicated by a Motor Vehicle Commission press release, on driver licenses and non-driver identification cards, X can mark the spot.

Southern Baptist pastor and theologian Al Mohler on Wednesday rebuked a United Methodist Church (UMC) congregation in Illinois for being led by a drag queen, and claimed the growing fissure in Protestantism over LGBT issues is turning into “two religions.”
Simmons, who is an openly gay man, dresses up as a woman even during his sermons. Serving under two female pastors as the church’s project and remote learning coordinator, Simmons is pursuing candidacy for ordination within the UMC and has claimed that by coming out as gay, “he found a deep love for theological discussion and spiritual formation.”
Mohler described the church’s willingness to promote Simmons as a ministerial candidate as “an intentional refutation and revolt against the very order of creation that God has given us, and a direct violation of the clear teachings of Scripture concerning the fact that those whom God has made as men should identify as men.”

Positive Coaching Alliance charges up to $10,000 for diversity and inclusion training
Little League baseball coaches in Alexandria, Virginia, will be required to take a diversity, equity, and inclusion course this month.
In an email to coaches on Thursday, Alexandria Little League board president Sherry Reilly announced the league's partnership with the Positive Coaching Alliance. All Little League coaches and board members were asked to cancel practices in order to attend the Sports Can Battle Racism workshop on May 24.
Virginia school districts have mandated similar training for their teachers. Arlington County schools required teachers to participate in an equity training program in which they were taught how to create an "actively antiracist learning environment." Loudoun County schools spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on teacher training sessions based on critical race theory—the idea that American institutions are inherently racist.
