The probability of DeBord calling a play is low.
Butch will most likely call the offense while DeBord will be focused on the offensive line.
I am sure it has been mentioned many times, but it was Lloyd Carr's offense. He was just given the keys to the car. He didn't purchase the car.
So, he shouldn't even get credit for that then, I guess? So, we've got a 58 year old OC who has been out of football for years and has never actually run his own offense at a major college level?
He can get credit for calling the plays and the success of the plays, but no he shouldn't get credit for the offense it self. No many OC develop their own offense. The offense that Rich Rodriguez runs is his offense. The Co-OC that he has understands the offense and calls the plays.
Do you even know what the role of an OC is? Or are you on here to annoy everyone else, and be negative?
True. But for someone who hasn't had a successful stint as a coordinator since the Clinton administration...
Then, what is your point? Why do you care who the OC is? Why did you respond to my posting of DeBord's offensive rankings with "it was Lloyd Carr's offense." Well, clearly you don't think DeBord will be running "his" offense here either, so why are you trying to argue? If you're right and OC's don't deserve credit for the offense then I guess DeBord will be running Butch's 83rd ranked offense from last year and you'll be happy with that.
So, since this thread is about the contract, I guess the question remains, why are we paying 500K for someone who won't be (according to your expressed views) at all responsible for our offensive ranking?
Butch's offense is fine with the talent in place, of course you know that right. Did you watch any games last year? Or were you busy being a keyboard commando? With the Offensive Line we put on the field last year, 83rd is pretty darn good. This year should be better if the OL improves.
I like debating you because you are dim and with each word you type, you reinforce that notion.

Yeah, quite the debate here. I've cited stats and you come back with excuses and insults.
I'm still waiting for you to explain to me why you want to pay a guy 500K but not hold him at all responsible for where the offense ranks. Seems rather odd.

He's getting a base pay of $200K, and additional compensation of $300K (for speaking engagements, consulting, etc, etc, etc..)
That is a bargain price if you ask me. What do you want to pay him? $7.50/hr?
I am starting to question if you are a vol fan. EVERYTHING you write is negative. I know that you were borderline suicidal when we beat Iowa.
