DC hire getting out of hand.

Whoa.... impossible standard?????? The standard in play is simple. Anybody that got their school on bowl ban AND had nearly every victory during their tenure taken down by the NCAA need not apply. That eliminates dang few people and makes it very possible and nowhere near sanctimonious. That is some real NCAA felony equivalents.

Those other candidates are solid but not 10 mil solid coming to the SEC and fighting the same NCAA issues we are about to face. I just don't see a solid value proposition giving these guys Saban money from the get go. Bet they know that too and would loved to have joined the UT got me a raise club and stuck in places of safety and loaded up the negatrons with more incompetence ammo.
Yes, because we're infinitely better off with someone with a middling HC record in the AAC than someone who beat Saban two years in a row. You still haven't addressed the fact that Freeze served his time, is under zero restrictions now from the NCAA, and has had zero infractions at his current school in the three-plus years he has been there. Go ahead and tell me what extra penalties - even one - the NCAA could levy against us if we had hired him, without opening themselves up to a lawsuit. Name one.

"Felony equivalents?" Now you're really getting risible. You're just making up stuff.

And your nonsense about not seeing the value in hiring a proven coach with a track record comparable to or better than what Saban had when he was hired by LSU is just that, nonsense. You should hang out with the power boosters - they would love you because you support their capricious, unconscionable attitude toward this program.

In my opinion, you have to pay big to play with the big dogs

Here’s how SEC coaches rank for total pay in 2020.
1) Nick Saban (Alabama) – $9.3M

2) Ed Orgeron (LSU) – $8.919M

3) Jimbo Fisher (Texas A&M) – $7.5M

4) Kirby Smart (Georgia) – $6.934M

5) Gus Malzahn (Auburn) – $6.928M

9) Dan Mullen (Florida) – $6.07M

7) Mark Stoops (Kentucky) – $5.014M

8) Mike Leach (Mississippi State) – $5M

9) Will Muschamp (South Carolina) – $4.37M

10) Eliah Drinkwitz (Missouri) – $3.925M

11) Jeremy Pruitt (Tennessee) – $3.846M

12) Lane Kiffin (Mississippi) – $3.764M

13) * Derek Mason (Vanderbilt) – $3.534M

14) Sam Pittman (Arkansas) $2.9M

We pay with the bottom feeders and somehow expect to be in the hunt???

At least other top programs try and we're sitting way down on the list.
Just the fact that our last coach and our current coach both got lower salaries than the coach at Kentucky tells one all one needs to know about our boosters. What a worthless, vile curse they are on this football program.

It's a shame we can't do like Green Bay does and have the fans actually run the show so we could tell these a@#holes to go f themselves.

Folks yaw need to take a step back and catch a breath. We all want the same thing. This program is as low as I've ever seen it in my 46yrs but we aint at rock bottom. We're still better than half the universities in the college world. We still talk about how bad Butch Jones was yet we had some of our better years in the last decade with him leading us. Honestly I thing he did exactly what he was initially hired to do. He had a ceiling and I think we all knew that. Obviously our selection of coaches are limited but I'm no way thinking we can't improve under JH. I think our DC hire is important but again we are not currently in the best position to attract the "BIG NAME HIRE" yet everybody had to start somewhere. My guess is JH will have to make staff changes here and there till we get past whatever sanctions is coming our way. If you have a track record of improving kids performance on the field it doesn't matter what universities they were at. A teacher is a teacher. Its probably gonna get worse before it gets better but I myself am willing to endure that to reset what we've been going through.
This was said going into the tenure of each of the last four coaches we have had. Every time, the same old song: "This was the best guy we could get, just have to give him time, he will coach them up and set the foundation for better things with the next guy." And then we get what we paid for, a bargain-bin coaching job from a bargain-bin coach, and we're worse off at the end of his tenure than we were at the beginning and have to listen again to this same mindless nonsense recited because our administration and boosters don't give a damn and won't do what it takes, i.e. pay good money, to get a good coach.

Professor?

Counting sales are looking back (Here is our new DC). Forecast is looking forward (We hope to announce a new DC).

Class dismisssed.
The whole point is CJH should not have said a deadline to be done i.e. counting chickens before they hatch...pretty well like i described but this basic level of a sales conversation is obviously beyond you, it's ok i forgive you, just hope for your sake you chose a different career path. No hard feelings, so carry on and Go Vols

OP, you suck at character assassination.

So, it's the timing of the hire??...not fast enuff for you and from that you felt we needed to share in your vast knowledge and wisdom.
Rather than just hush, if you can't say positive, and see what happens...ffsView attachment 351158

You just used a poor analogy. It happens. No worries.

So Heupel’s criticism was his defensive acumen when he was hired by a lot of our fans. So now he is looking for a complimentary match to his offense. He is being cautious, deliberate and secretive. Isn’t that what we want? I’m just not sure I understand the criticism of him or how White became a control freak and puppet master. We were embarrassed as Hell the last coaching hire because everything was leaked. Now it is a more professional and judicious but yet there is still criticism. Maybe some of us just like to complain.
Ding Ding Ding Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

UT has a lot of issues right now, but I’d bet being a DC to complement this type of offense is a tough sale
