Chavis was good but I still think he did less with more… take the 99 team for instance. They were loaded on defense and still could not get off the field at times.

How much of that was Chavis and how much was Fulmer? Or did Fulmer leave him alone and let him do his thing?

Mustang Package. That prevent defense prevented us from winning several games. I’m guessing it was mostly Chavis. Fulmer didn’t meddle (much) on either side of the ball until Sanders was promoted to OC. Then he began overriding most of the play calls.

Ken Donahue had a great run. It's unfortunate the way his career ended here at Tennessee. We had a bad year, think it was 88, and he got let go iirc.

Yep...IIRC Doug Mathews became the DC.

Monte was great against pro style offenses. He shut Bama down that year. To bad we didn’t have a kicker.

And the kicker had a hurt leg and Kiffin sent him out there to try one from the parking lot. Damnit!
