I'd take CMB back as QB coach. He helped mold Jameis Winston into a good starting QB the last 6 weeks of the season. Say no just no to Lovie and his tired Tampa 2. It got carved up when Monte coached in K-town and was ultimately Smith's downfall in Tampa.

Can you name an NFL head coach that immediately after being fired took a CFB coordinator position?

He may or may not get a HC job, but I'm sure there are NFL teams that would love him as a DC. There is 0 chance that he will be the Vols DC.

Being a Bucs fan....Lovie didn't have a pass rush or the secondary players to run his Tampa 2 heavy defense...If he lands at UT he would have the players and depth to be able to run it....so if push comes to shove I wouldn't mind him being the DC but he would not be my first choice

Are we seriously having a conversation about an NFL head coach who got fired a few hours ago becoming the DC for UT? And that Butch knew this was coming and has been planning this...?

This is getting good.

Yeah, Doug Mathews said on 104.5 this afternoon that Butch and Jancek started butting heads back around mid-season.

So anyone saying on 5 Dec that Jancek isn't going anywhere unless it's for a HC job probably doesn't have very much of an inside track on the coaching situation. Not casting aspersions, just saying that's probably not the thing any vague hints were about.
