Awesome to see he got his act together. I read an article where the first game he played for Ark State he teared up, not knowing if he would ever play football again. Hope he gets a shot at the Pro's. Sounds like a good kid. Keep it up, David! :good!:
I am a stAte alum and yes - watched the game. I could not help but wonder how good he would have been if he stayed a Vol. Mahlzahn as a head coach would have been a far better choice than Dools. They are in first with MTSU in the Sunbelt and will play them next week. Nobody on here has a right to make fun of the Sunbelt anymore with Troy being a mid-level team in that conference.
Freeze took the team up a notch and Mahlzahn is continuing it. Wish we had Aplin at QB. Man, he is good. That perfect sideline pass completion for 20+ off his back foot in the first half was special. Excellent dual threat guy.
He quit because he was scared to play in the SEC or to try and compete for playing time against our other RB's.
Doing well when the top competition is MTSU and you're in the Sunbelt doesn't impress me despite what Troy has done this year against my Vols.
I wish the kid well but he'll always be a quitter in my book when he had a great opportunity to try and impress NFL scouts playing in the SEC.
VFL...GBO!!!
