Davenport Fired

Laughing stock or not, the Browns have doubled in value since Haslam purchased them and had an operating income of $95 million last year. I'm not a Haslam fan, but doubling your investment in six years and having a $95 million income from one of the worst NFL teams is not bad.

If he is in football to make money that awesome. Unfortunately the goal is to win. Football is unique in that you get money from various sources, regardless of the quality of your product. If this were a traditional business, he would be filing bankruptcy by now.

Of course he’s “in football” to make money. Every owner is. Just like every player is.

Business owners are in the business of making money. My local team (Cowboys) have made the playoffs only twice in the last 8 years, but had an operating income of $350 million last year.

The Eagles had an operating income of $63 million in 2017. If you were a business owner, which franchise would you rather own last year? The Eagles (+$63 million) or the Cowboys (+$350 million)??? I love winning, but income keeps my career going.

As a fan, I want the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl every year.

Pretty much every team has doubled in value in the same time frame. That is not an accomplishment. It's driven by teams being sold.

It would be an accomplishment if my investments doubled at least every 6 years. The Browns had a higher operating income than 21 other NFL teams.

The point was if it were a tradiontal business it wouldnt work. Continually producing a bad product is only a good business model ib sports where fan loyalty and hope of the next big name changing the future.

The great thing about The Rock is that anyone can paint anything they want on there.
