Davenport Fired

I believe she was good for UT football, and without her we’d have Schino and Currie. Sad day as we step back into the Haslam shadow that has cursed our university for the last 15 years.

They will learn when they get in the real world with bills, jobs, responsibilities.Peoples political beliefs seem to change when they are indoctrinated into adulthood.

Gotta live long enough to realize how dumb you were when you knew everything.

She was a ding bat. Even with the Fulmer decision, which was correct, she still was way over her head. Now, UT spends more money on bad hires.

Something about that letter is messed up. WAY too much info in it.

This makes Dr. Joe look like a bona fide idiot no matter how you look at it unless it's forged.

Has it been confirmed?

She was the one who hired Currie over Fulmer in the first place. #neverforget #shouldhavebeenfulmer #maybeevenblackburn

Tennessee continually hiring idiots then firing them and paying buyouts along with being a complete dumpster fire in football. It’s what UT does best these days I can promise you Fulmer won’t be long for the AD job the Haslams will see to that.

Come on, JP. You are retired military, so you are as brain washed as your daughters ever will be.

Enlightenment is the only thing which will keep any society from reverting to the horrors of the Hitler era. Learn to live in harmony with it. It has been going on for centuries and will hopefully go on for centuries to come.

You are a solid dude and my favorite poster around here. I am sorry to take a jab at you. It is just I never figured you would have a problem with enlightenment. And, in the end, I refuse to believe you do. :hi:

Thanks, Sam, I appreciate it.

And you're absolutely right, there's plenty of brainwashing ("mental conditioning") in militaries, world wide. I remember running down Ardennes street on Fort Bragg in the 80's, singing about how I want to kill Daniel Ortega (Nicaragua communist dictator) and Manuel Noreiga (Panama thug voodoo dictator). Which in retrospect is pretty macabre, but at the time made perfect sense to all of us in formation. :)

So when I tell the girls they were brainwashed, I literally mean it. Brainwashing is simple: teach someone an important idea, and then build a wall around that idea so that the person who's brainwashed will refuse to listen to criticism of the idea, or other perspectives.

As you point out, people get brainwashed all the time. You just don't normally expect universities to be in that business. They're supposed to be about freely questioning everything, always open to different ideas.

That's not where the girls are right now, unfortunately. They'll grow out of it, I think. It'll just take time.

p.s. Both Hitler and Stalin were all about identity politics. The "we" and the "they," failing to respect people for their individual traits but instead judging them--condemning them--for what group they belonged to. Our universities are in danger of taking us down this same path today.

I'm all for enlightenment and inclusiveness and accepting people for who they are. That's not my complaint about the girls' education, at all. Just wish they hadn't picked up the identity politics. I think you understand what I mean, right?

I know, brother. My daughters are coming out of Vanderbilt literally brainwashed on social, political, and economic issues. Colleges these days....

Same boat. My daughter is two years in at Georgetown in International Studies (focus: Middle East) having dreamed of working in a Hillary Clinton State Department...

Hopefully my son, who starts at Rice in the Fall in Engineering (and Yes! he was just named Valid Victorian at the high screwel last night; which makes us 2-for-2 in that department no thanks to yours truly who was always traveling and now always working), will not become quite so brainwashed - but it may already be too late.

( And yes, we're 0-for-2 in the kids' schools football program department... )

Wished I would’ve known before renewing my 6 season tickets. Haslams will find a way to F it up like they always do. They ruined Tennessee football and I blame them for last 10 years of misery.
