Dave Clawson or Cutcliffe projected by ESPN

Knoxville would riot and burn if the Clawfense is brought back here and I like Cutt but he is just too damn old to restart at UT.

The only reason Cutcliffe had success was that he coached both Manning brothers. Hell,even Butch Jones could probably win with that. Oh,yeah,back then,TN and Ole Miss actually had a defense.

Really? Clawson is at the start of UT Football’s destruction. His pathetic, joke of an offense is what got Fulmer fired...we all know what had happened since.

Heck I think fulmer was the problem. Clawson has done pretty well after he got out of fulmer,s control. Still hope we can do better than Dave clausen.

If he was as good as you think he is, he would not be at FAU. The delusion of some of you is baffling.

Maybe its my poor memory, maybe the rumors, but best I recall Kiffin got us: in trouble with the SEC office almost weekly, got into hot water right off the bat with the NCAA, publicly accused Florida's coach of some recruiting "illegality" and then had to publicly apologize, AND THEN treated Tennessee like dog-do do promptly walking away while holding a petty 2-minute press conference, while his Assistant Ogeron (LA's Head Coach) was on the phone with some Tennessee recruits telling them not to sign with Tennessee cause he and Kiffin were going to Southern Cal (according to the parent's of several recruits).

Now I'm more than willing to admit my memory may be wacky, but Kiffin and Ogeron qualify as the most unethical two-some to EVER coach at Tennessee and even considering bringing them back is ludicrous (and I don't care what kind of an offensive genius he may be).

I'd argue that Chaney was pretty good as well...but Cut certainly had a good track record as OC.

He'd made a great HC if we'd hired him after the Kiffin year, but IMO the timing isn't right for him now.
