I wish Clawson all the luck in the world. I hate that he didn't get a chance to get our offense off the ground here though....Of course he probably would have never gotten his offense started here.:D

i would go with (d) he didnt have a chance to bring his players in,you know boyd/giles/oku/williams ect ect

I agree. Clawson didn't have the personnel he needed here. If he'd had so much as a decent quarterback, he'd still be with UT and so would Fulmer.

Clawson's record as a head coach before he came to UT was outstanding. He would have gotten a FBS job sooner rather than later, but was willing to accept UT's offer because he probably hoped to inherit the job from Fulmer.

I think he'll do well at Bowling Green. Wouldn't be surprised if he's coaching in the SEC or ACC within five years.

They must not have seen us on offense this year!:) Best of luck to him. Just glad he is not here. my game room could not stand another season of no offense.:banghead2::furious3::censored::bash::spank::chair:

Its hard to judge Clawson just on this past year. He was a very successful Division 1-AA coach. I can't completely blame the entire season on Clawson. I am very happy that he is getting an opportunity to be a head coach after a trying year.

Richmond beat App St and made it to the semi's in Div II. Too bad he didn't stick around there, looks like they may win it all in Div II.

Richmond is actually Division 1-AA or Championship Subdivision. The only reason I noticed this is that my brother used to go to a school that is actually in the Division 2 championship this weekend.

From what I remember, Clawson took Richmond to the semifinals as well, but I could be wrong.

He'll be fine. Bowling Green will give him time. Thats the problem with big time programs like us, time is NOW. Big time football is not a sport these days, it's a business.

Clawson has many years as a head coach that prove he is a winner. I'm thrilled he'll get another opportunity to prove that, and that his association with our declined system wasn't a career-killer.

best of luck to you, Coach.

I don't know which amazes me more...that this thread which has as it's subject our 1 year OC that flopped has more than 10 posts, or the fact that a division 1a school who literally contended for the national title year in and out actually hired this guy.

i'd be willing to put money on it that in two years he has them competing!! You are bias from just liking UT but i've seen what he did in Richmond and i personally know that all of the offensive woes this season don't fall squarely on his shoulders... Hes a lot better coach than your writing him off to be.. So you'll be in for a surprise when he begins to be very successful within a few years

Being as it doesn't cost me a damn thing, or the Division 1 school I holler for I don't give a dam if your right or wrong. I was against hiring him for 1 reason....you don't allow a man to learn to be a an offensive coordinator at this level on your dime. It dang sure cost us plenty for his learning curve, I hope he made the most of it.

I'd say he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was curious that the QB play got worse over the season. We may never know how it really went down behind closed doors at UT this past year. The man did a great job of landing on his feet.

It wasn't his learning curve. The people that think that aren't looking at the situation at all depths

I am really happy for coach Clawson and at the same time sad things didn´t work out here for him, He´s a class gentleman and I wish him the very best.
