Darrell Taylor Suspended Indefinitely

There's a big difference between being an aggressive player and intentionally kicking your teammate in the face with cleats.

While I'm all for firing Butch, I have to agree with his decision.

If it was one of the opposing team's players that did that to one of our players, most of us would be pissed too.

Clearly uncalled for on Taylor's part.

We're so deep at DE, who would notice?

Someone should have thought of that before kicking a teammate in the face and causing the need for medical treatment. Apparently, this went beyond just a practice field scuffle of pushing, shoving and punching.

You guys that seem to be willing to disregard basic principles and standards for the sake of winning are quite concerning.

not convinced it's for the sake of winning--I think it's just further attempts to try to outdo one another about getting rid of CBJ.

I've said it before and I really believe this--there are a number of reasons to question whether he is up for the job, but piling on over such things as this is lunreasoable.

As I understood the incident, Taylor got pancaked and things escalated while they were on the ground. I can picture Taylor getting ahold of a face mask and pulling the helmet off while teammates try to pull them apart. Taylor pulls a girlie move and kicks up at Smith catching him in the face. Heat of the moment? Now if he's standing over Smith and kicks him while he's down, that's a cheap shot and all bets are off. Regardless, I think this has to be handled by the team with input from Smith. Pretty clear Taylor has some maturing to do. Has to be able to control the emotions. Opponents are going to go out of their way to provoke him from here on out. I know I would if I were lined up against him....especially at a critical moment of a game. Kid has to grow up.

... Orgeron is the worst HC in the SEC, bar none. They beat Florida because Florida is a terrible team. Without incredible luck and a lot of help from the officials, they'd be 1-4 right now (they actually beat Vandy) and Butch would be cruising despite the UGA loss.
Wrong, our University may lay claim to that Coaching Title. Florida is terrible, but; we couldn't beat them.

This wasn't two men going toe to toe as I understand it. Cheap shot kick to the face. Punishment is justified. Live and learn.

To be fair he did try to fight UGA and got ejected. So maybe he thought keeping it in house was a better idea.
Did you even watch the game? he did not try to fight he never swung at the guy. Even the commentators were saying it was a bad call. That being said, if he purposely kicked a teammate in the face that's foul, but this is football altercations in practice happen all the time and crap like this is not rare on any team. It just never makes headlines normally.

The new world of social media and half assed news has brought this to a boil. We live in a world where all you have to do is tweet something anything that on the surface could look to someone on the outside as smoke and you have a full blown fire. By the time the real facts come out its too late because its faster to create a meme and take it viral than it is to actually wait for the truth to come out.

Not sure if Butch/Team can weather this storm but the first step to survival is beating USC. A sound beating would quiet the heathens at the gate. Reasoning being SC is the easiest SEC game we have before Missouri. Bama is a loss outside of some miracle for anyone on their current schedule. Anyone on their schedule outside of maybe auburn expecting anything less than a thorough drubbing is on crack.

Outside of Bama every other game on our schedule is winnable but UK wont be a walk in the park and Vandy might find something in the tank for us no one else got. Honestly I don't see us losing another game outside of Bama. but, USC is where it starts. QD had to get his legs there. JG to this point has shown no indication he should be playing in an SEC game yet. QD has and I think we have had the time to address issues with WR's and OL to let them showcase it this coming saturday.

I think its a case that unless u were there we have no right to comment. but the fact he was suspended means it at least has enough legs under it to warrant a suspension of your most productive DL for a make or break game. taylor is a beast, the question is he too much beast?

Orgeron, McElwain, Butch, all of them suck. Who cares who is best and who is worst? None will get their respective programs a championship. I'm just hoping the other two programs hang on to those losers until we actually make a decent hire.
