Darlinstone???

Hit a couple big 3s in the first half to keep us in it and I don’t think made any poor decisions today. Mashack is going to get all the shine (and rightfully so) but you’re right. Dubar had a good game.
I think many might now start seeing what some of us were saying about needing him going forward because the way they will start calling games. Tonight was a good example of how games will be called in March.
We're going to end up needing him more and more I feel.

Dubar is capable of giving us some defensive/offensive production, and it was nice to see him hit a couple big shots whilst batting on D/for the ball.
He almost had a nice oop to Felix, too. I've seen him make some good passes while in this year.
That's a plus for him as far as his play, too.

Definitely don't feel like he is necessarily a liability out there like I do with Boswell ( no disrespect Bishop).

I don’t think we see Boswell at all tonight if ZZ doesn’t have foul trouble.

Hope he takes a leap next year. He’s in line for a lot of PT potentially and he hasn’t shown much outside of a good motor and good attitude so far. Seems like a good kid and I’m a sucker for high-motor guys with limited ball skills so I’m rooting for him.

I'm not hating on the guy at all. Hasn't had enough playing time to make any real judgment on him. That said, he also hasn't given us any flashes that might lead us to believe he can be that guy either. I'll have to defer to Barnes completely on this one.

He’s had some nice offensive rebounds in limited opportunities but he’s not shown much from a shooting or driving standpoint so far. I expect he probably can do more than he’s shown but like you said, it’s kinda a mystery box. He hasn’t been asked to do that much so far.

He's shown a few flashes of being able to get to the paint on a drive ( I could give u several examples). Just hasn't been consistently hitting them when he gets there.
Hopefully, that changes. Need to count on him for some points while he is in.

Dubar was ok today. I think he is capable of at least shooting better moving forward. His form looked better and he made two big threes about the time Chaz started cooling off.

Yeah, I hope Boswell develops into a good player for us, but I haven't seen him do much against SEC competition.

Maybe he’s one of the ones battling the flu? He definitely didn’t play up to his standard today.
He had his flu game when he missed against Florida. He was just not on tonight.
He is just inconsistent, but it's what we got and at least he is capable of a big game. Great rebounder, too.
Someone called him Olivier Milicic Jr. In the live thread, and I thought that was pretty accurate as well as funny.

That’s pretty good 😂

I don’t mind the inconsistency nearly so much when we’re not relying on him to carry us nightly. I think ON probably got more heat than he deserved (prior to the transfer decision) just because he was asked to do more than he was capable. If he’d been able/willing to play a smaller role…

I'm hoping he's going to develop much like Phillips. Having said that I sincerely hope Barnes has a plan B at point for next year.

Same. It wouldn’t be unheard of for him to be a great player (probably more of a role player than a star) next year. Barnes seems to like him and that speaks volumes.

I prefer us to fill all our roster spots with plan Bs. Living on the edge is too stressful lol

On a positive note, Dubar looks to not have checked out for the season.
I still say we are going to need him more and more going forward in Tournament play. Looking to be the case, too.

Don’t understand why Barnes keeps dubar on bench second half … seems to
Be doing better job defense. , he occasionally still gets lost on the switch , but he can shoot the ball and get to the basket even has to… seems be athletic enough and has size to
Help on the glass …

Absolutely. We will be in foul trouble every game when the NCAA tournament starts, unless we can get some SEC refs..

I was glad to see him with some productive minutes today. I’d say this season hasn’t gone the way he had hoped, but he seems like he’s worked on his defense and tries to make the most of the opportunities he gets. Great lob to Cade today. Hope he can get some more minutes to help out in the tournament games.

The guy is trying. I think many had wrote him off as he wasn't even trying to " get with the program". He's playing good D, making good passes, and at least attempting to get it in the paint. I've noticed he is not so quick to put up a 3, which may not necessarily be a good thing.

I mean we don't want him to just jack a quick shot, but he is a plenty good enough 3 -point shooter to take the shot when he is wide open.
Just happy he doesn't seem to have checked out after not getting the minutes he might have envisioned. We will need him for sure if we make any significant run in the NCAAT.

Yep. There was a time or two yesterday I think he could have taken a three, but he passed. He makes several hustle plays every game, so he definitely seems to still be giving his all. He can be a good contributor to the team down the stretch. Hopefully we have several games left to watch this team together.

So some players are criticized for being inconsistent, while others can be held in high esteem for “trying.” Hilarious. Truly.

Let's be fair, tho. And real. Igor has been afforded WAY more minutes and opportunities to be consistent, even if his play is inconsistent. Dubar has almost always been yanked first mistake, or for sure the second.
I've seen him yanked more than once after making two shots in a row/starting out consistent.
Igor has had a ton of games where he was left in despite having a bad game.

When I said "trying" the last few games I didn't mean Dubar wasn't succeeding. The guy has been consistent the last few games.
I just meant he is now doing the things many said he wouldn't do. He's trying to carve himself out a meaningful role going into the NCAAT.

Dubar has skills. I believe he is a good outside shooter. He is shorter than Igor which can be a problem covering a taller guy but I actually like his game. Barnes has him on such a short leash and obviously there has been some sort of problem behind the scenes. I actually pull hard for him when he is in the game. My one concern with him is that I watch him on the sidelines and he doesn't seem to be as engaged in the game as his teammates.
