Danny White On Twitter

The fans will put us back to the Dooley and butch days. Has anyone compared what other teams are charging per game?
What would be more interesting would be to compare ticket prices vs median income for Tennesseans. This method would more accurately show whether or not prices are outstripping local populace's ability to afford UT sports events. Then you will be able compare the percentage differences between schools as a percentage of median income. Good project for a statistics class.

The prices would be tolerable if we were putting a top 10 team on the field every year with consistently making the playoffs
Historically Tennessee has never had a Top 10 Team every year. We had a good run in the 90's but that is pretty much it in the last 70 years and about 25-30 years between National Championships.

Those fans are just ignorant. Or as they say.... haters gonna hate. Reality is, you could easily make an argument that ticket prices are too low now.
I’d guess that those who are complaining won’t attend the free orange and white game and wouldn’t attend regular season games if the cost was$50.

Ticket prices are too high and the fan experience is diminished… ask the people how long it takes just to get into the stadium now… ohh heaven help you if their system goes down while in line. Not sure attacking Danny on twitter is the best way to get a change but fans are fed up so they vent.

All you defenders, the retweeters are voicing what most of us think. I say good for them. Maybe Danny will take notice and change things. Doubt it but maybe.
I don't know the regular family can afford going to games every week. Hopefully gas and food prices continue to go down by fall. That will help a little to make up for the fix prices..

Yeah, the game is almost 4 hours. (That's not Danny's fault) but the 4 hours of techno can get exhausting. We don't need a constant flood of noise in the stadium. The best fan experience is us to win. I think we're a simple fan base, we don't a 4hr light show. Take that money and buy some D-linemen

Danny would be in the front of the line to extend the games longer if he could squeeze more out of fans.

If we pay a premium we should see a return on that premium that’s it… I see a lot of wasted money and a new district nobody wants.

The relationship between revenue and titles is correlated, not causal. Your question is based on an inaccurate concept.
I think the fact that DW imposed a "talent fee" on every ticket purchased changes the causality somewhat. Most people understand that for revenues to keep improving, the results should improve also. It's more causal than ever before.

Yep. I'd rather sit for 3 minutes quietly during a commercial break just to catch my breath. I don't need constant crappy base pounding at every TO

There seems be a disconnect with Danny and the fans. he wants neyland-land and the fans just want to win

You are within your right to think how you want about it. Opinions are opinions for a reason, after all.
There has been enough organized sport played with disparity of payroll for the rosters to show increased revenues and payrolls do not consistently correlate to championships. We just witnessed such an event with the college championship. MLB is a great example of this phenomenon as well.

You can expect something different though. But be prepared to experience years of bitter disappointment though.

The greatest impetus compelling individuals to post these negative comments is the collision between ignorance and emotional dysregulation. We all want an elite program in every sport, but this will not occur if we cannot compete financially in this new, toxic age of college athletics. The finite pipeline of government funding of the athletic department falls miserably below the threshold of capital required to operate at the astronomical level of fan expectations. Am I frustrated with the rise in ticket prices? Sure, but as a business owner who is solely responsible for the financial health of the business and the tightrope, I must walk to keep my clients happy with their perception of value/ROI, I must make these types of decisions. Pandora's box was not just opened when paying players became legal, but we dropped a nuclear bomb on the innocence and integrity of college athletics. We are now living in a new age of athletics that will cost us all if we want to be a contender, like it or not.

It’s his job to bring in the most money he can. We do a whole lot more winning since he took over than previous ADs,people need to remember how bad it can be. Danny White is a top 5 AD in the country. Sure I think he needs to figure out a solution to Neyland, it was not the home field environment it should have been last season. Too many people think he’s to blame for our baseball coach taking a MLB JOB lol. People need to breathe and relax. Prices being the way they are, blame the terrible economy in this country more than anything.

And so it is... can't we just celebrate pro football (and other) finally got to Knoxville and, yes, even places like Oxford, MS with big $$$ and tampering.

Hey, you want a great experience? Try being a fan of the Browns, Jets, or even the Giant$.

I don’t think any college fanbase, especially ours, pays attention to what goes on at other programs, which results in a warped perspective on what things cost these days. We’re far from the only program increasing prices on everything. This is also simply the side effect of having to open Pandora’s box to NIL and revenue share. Realistically, it’s only going to continue to get more expensive if you want to compete.

Not to mention the fact that everything not related to sports is increasingly expensive. $5 for a dozen eggs, $20 for a popcorn and drink at the movies, etc. Home prices becoming so unaffordable. Sports are just part of the trend, not unique.

I liked Vol Twitter better when they went after external "opponents" of various kinds (opposing fans, trolling other team's accounts, members of the media, etc.).

Now it seems like a lot of their vitriol is directed internally at members of our own program and occasionally at each other. They're kind of eating their own.
