All you defenders, the retweeters are voicing what most of us think. I say good for them. Maybe Danny will take notice and change things. Doubt it but maybe.

Inflation is here to stay. A dozen eggs may go up and down in price, but stadium seats get smaller while the price gets larger. Maybe Dooley will get elected to the US Senate and reign in NIL deals and Portal breaks so we don’t have to pay so much. I know a $10-20 ticket was a lot of money for my family to pay when I was a kid, but $300-400 these days is out of my range.

I still think we have the best AD in the country.
Yes, the naive negatives who oppose high ticket prices, talent fees, changing to higher-paying Adidas, etc are just insufferable. They live in some fantasy world where a school can be competitive without enormous resources, and feel entitled to unrealistically cheap tickets because that’s how it was in 1978. If they were forced to explain UT’s budget and asked to deliver the resources necessary to be competitive in multiple sports, they would not only be unable to but would humiliate themselves with their exposed ignorance.

I think you are grossly underestimating "Magic" in this situation.

A lot of fans are justifiably miserable.

I'm glad I am not one of those who must choose between groceries/health insurance, etc., or sky-high ticket prices.
They're the same fans who complain that we're getting outspent for recruits and portal guys and Heupel is "getting stuffed in a locker" when we don't sign a player they want. "Why can't we spend more?!" AND "Danny Dimes is all about money!" are not compatible complaints.

I spend a lot of money on UT sports in the form of tickes and donations. It's going up every year. It may get to the point where I stop. But guess what? That will be my choice if it does stop...just like it's my choice to spend it now. I can employ this perspective because I'm an adult.

It costs a ton of money to compete nationally in today's environment...especially across multiple sports. Many want Tennessee to spend like the Oregons and Texas' of the world, and compete nationally across all sports, while they pay 2010 ticket prices. That's not how this works.

We have one of the best, most professional ADs in America trying to navigate UT through this environment successfully, without the benefit of Super Donors like some of the big spending schools have. A bunch of childish brats attacking him on X after the announcement of a FREE event do nothing to help our programs.

I’m retired. Season tickets aren’t in my budget. If I’m lucky, a season ticket holder will offer me at cost a spare ticket for a game vs a SEC opponent. Otherwise, I watch the games on TV.

In these times, I think Tennessee is fortunate to have Donde Plowman and Danny White. Those who blame Danny White for their disgruntlement are lazy minded.
