We're talking about all the wrong things right now...

What's obvious is that this team has absolutely busted their tails to get ready to play this season and the kicker has lost 2 games for them.

That totally sux!

Palardy is unreal. If he doesn't end his career as one of the best kickers/punters in UT history...I'll be shocked. Heck, he may do both. He's an upgrade...no doubt. I still can't agree with all the hate for Lincoln. We're talking about all the wrong things right now...
I remember there being some hype around Lincoln, too.

Memo to those who feel compelled to defend Liability. err, I mean Lincoln. It is the kickers job to get the ball up. When a kick is on a flat plane, fat piles of crap like "Mt. Cody" become folk hereos.Posted via VolNation Mobile

Tell that fat piece of crap that next April.

He does deliver low trajectory kicks...no denying that. BUT how can crucify him when he doesn't have the oppurtunity to get one off?

So whose fault is it that we were left an average kicker and an aneimic offensive line?

I just think we're pointing the finger in the wrong direction, thats all.

How did you feel about the overall play of the team today and where do you think we're headed from here on out?
With the exception of a couple of inopportune penalties, I thought it was a solid effort. If we avoid a letdown and take care of business next Saturday, we'll steamroll the three tomato cans and the Ole Miss game will decide if we finish 8-4 or 7-5.

The team is playing lights out, over their heads, from the heart, Vols football.

They deserve a W for that.

I said that same thing after the game. We picked a horrible day to make those little mental mistakes. Honestly, we can't b**ch and whine about a PF for removing a helmet when we made critical mental errors. We lost this game...plain and simple.

The Ole Miss game will really tell the story of whether we did what expected or really pushed forward and surprised some folks. I don't always agree with your P.O.V. but you're dead on right there.

it's a fact not an excuse...
No, it isn't. Lincoln sucks. He's missed long kicks, short kicks, extra points. There's no assurance he would have made the kick minus the penalty. Why don't you stick to kissing Fulmer's fat arse and balimng Dave Clawson for everything but the swine flu? At least that is amusing. Any defense of Lincoln at this point in his career is just idiocy.

Obviously not.

Kicked on ESPN earlier in the year. He put several KO's way out of the back of the endzone, routinely punted for 50+ yard (nailed a 55 yarder with his heels in the back of his own endzone) and supposedly hits 50 yarders at weekend kicking camps like their chip shots.

1st team SEC by his JR year.

So from the 19 yard line you still think Lincoln's misses it

You agree that he kicks on, your words not mine, a low trajectory. Yet, you do not see fault in that argument? The place kicker MUST develop evalation when he/she kicks the football. Get a clue. bro.

could those be a couple that backed us up from the 19 yard line

For noodle legs like Lincoln, you can't kick moon balls. I don't see how you can't fault the O-Line for letting Cody get into the backfield twice on FG's. He didn't get a chance to see if that was going through the uprights...all I'm saying.

But thanks for being a smarta** and an internet tough guy. Appreciated.

Go Vols

Question....is there a back up place kicker on the team now???? If Lincoln is injured, then someone else should be kicking.

They both have legs...about the only comparison. Palardy may end up the biggest asset out our entire class.

Go to Florida High School Football and Basketball Front Page and read the forum post from Palardy's kicking coach Conrad, and find the post for WOW 65 and 70 yard field goals. Last night Palardy hit all his KO out of the back of end zone both into and with the wind. As a matter of fact, he is the only one who is allowed to kick into the wind when STA plays. No need to punt the other night, but when warming up for 2nd half, was kicking at the back of the end zone to the 40 yard line on the oppositions side of the field...70 yards +. Freak!

Close thread???

I'm still pretty torn up about this game. I'm not hanging out with my boys and watching the rest of the games. We all dispersed...too emotional. Sorry if I've offended anyone tonight. I'm gonna take the Kiffin approach and purge it from the system in the morning.

Looking ahead to SCar starting.....now.

Go Vols!
