Yes, because more reps, grasping of scheme and improved strength, speed and stamina has never led to improvement from one season to the next. I've finally grasped the magnitude of how futile it is deabting you. You have a stance that it's all sunshine, rainbows and chocolate rivers and my stance is its wildfires and floods with the apocalypse on the horizon. Neither one are changing the others mind.
Since I have said multiple times in multiple places that attrition is necessary... my obvious answer is "no". What I keep saying only to have you guys answer me as if I were making a completely different point is that you can't lose everyone from the same position group.I have a couple questions for SJT and Bowling Green. Would you guys be happy keeping all 32 kids and then in a couple years we have a giant whole again?
No more than they beg them to come in the first place. Stripling indicated that they weren't happy to lose Hendrix and that they had tried to talk him into staying. So I guess you should take this question up with him.Should we beg kids to stay - maybe tell Barnett, Hurd and Wolf to sit on the bench more to keep the ones behind them happy? (Might not win as much but we will have depth and nobody gets their feelings hurt to include the Negavols)
Good grief! Is it really, really necessary to point you guys back to what Jones repeats constantly? Some of these guys possess talent. Jones said multiple times that you don't want to have to play as many Fr as they played this past year. You ideally want to develop them for a year or two before they see the field. These ARE NOT guys you would have expected to already be playmakers. But if they have already played then there's a very good chance that the staff thinks they could have become playmakers.I would see a problem if the playmakers were leaving but this is not the case.
And there are many, many other possibilities including a few that wouldn't be flattering to the staff. But in the end, they've lost several players very early... Earlier than they could realistically be telling themselves that they weren't going to get PT. Regardless of the reason, the staff has to assess what happened and adjust to make it better. Why is that such a difficult concept or one you guys consider to be so "negative"?I can see why some of these guys left because they know they will not be playing much and at other schools they would be a starter or maybe a star. Some of the guys who left are not from TN so with them not playing it probably makes it harder for them to stay when they only came to TN to play football.
Be thankful the Vols are getting so much talent and will be winning again.

I also said that Shula recruited way better than dookey. Which is why a bama turnaround was a quicker process. They had better talent than jones when he took over. Shula recruited a lot of average sec players. Dooley recruited average big 10 players.
That 30 year old rich, genius guy claimed that Dooley recruited better than Shula.
I have no illusion that everything is perfect or that Butch makes the right call everytime...I just bristle when I see normal attrition and player movement occur and other fans try to shove doomsday garbage down my throat...when they try to pigeonhole my arguments, I have a little fun with it.

Dude you really think me possessing 4 pom-poms makes me feel like a real fan? That's what's sad is your inability to catch sarcasm without the proverbial blue font.
Knowing how you brag about attending practice and donating your money and having all the answers and being the enlightened one once Butch leaves....yeah i believe it!
You probably have a whole closet full of them!
Dude don't waste your time. He can't even remember that before Shula, alabama had a coach that just left the program in price, franchione just left after one year, and dubose recruited like crap at the end. He was dealing with what jones was dealing with when it came to poor talent on the roster. He was the program settler. He was brought in to right the ship. He did and Saban had a quicker turnaround because of it. Oh and that recruiting ranking thing, ask Oregon if rankings matter. They are usually outside the top 15 but seem to win regularly. But what do I know compared to a guy that solely star watches.
Lastly, Shula brought in McElroy and Prothro for crying out loud. Pretty dang good job by Shula. What did we get from fools, Bray and Most Definitely.

Dooley didn't even recruit Bray, he simply convinced him to stay on campus as an EE.
James Stone, Tiny, courting Malik Jackson during his transfer, Hunter, CP. All NFL roster guys. I think those trump Prothro and GMac.
